The grill hasn't arrived yet. That should protect it. Until then no ladies in the car

The system sounds awesome, hits hard and is very clear.

Kicker 400.2 Amp (Mids/Highs)
Kicker L7 8" Sub

This is the only close I have, I'll try to take a better pic.

Honestly I like the trunk set up that is clean. But the sub in the right front floor board IM not to thrilled about. I have been putting systems in cars for 13 years. I have been to many sound qulity shows. My first thought is the throw off of sound. The 1 sub on the right side floor board. I hope your front stage will pick up the lacking in the all around sound of your car. As you want to have the sound all around you in a car. From the front to back blending in together. It should sound like you are in a studio or for that matter a good concert. If you put all the sound in front of you. It is like you are sitting at a resturant drive through. Think of it like this. If you have a nice home threater system. Play the music on it and listen. Close your eyes listen to every sound around you. Now go to your car and listen to the same song. Does it sound like it is all around you voices in front of you, Flowing around and the smooth mid range sounds. Then the lower end coming in at a smooth tone. Or is most of your low end or bass coming from the right side of you. My choice on placement of the sub you might could have been better with going with two 8 inch subs behind the seats in a fiberglass enclosure. Being space is limited in the NSX.
Or for that matter 6.5 Inch drivers . It can be hard to put a sub box in a NSX. Because this is an NSX not destortion of pride. But none the less it is nice.

Could you tell us how do you connect the LCD display to the central unit? I want to install one myself without causing any electronic problem.

NSX2NV,

Kenji,

I got the CF guage bezel from Chris @ Science of Speed.
Heres the link.

Sorry if you meant the centre console that is just wrapped in carbon fibre look sticker. I'm not to happy with it but it'll have to do until after the Import Fest show. What do you guys think about putting a polished or brushed aluminum type film on the centre console and on the door trim pieces. (Any ideas or products out there that would give me this effect.

Wow the job looks great.... i only have one comment about it is that, they should've relined the trunk w/ Vinyl all around. This will give it more of a flesh in job.

Tobal,

Thats what I wanted but the shop said the vinyl would not stick to the carpet so I just settled for black carpet. After the ImportFest show I'm going to try and get it vinyled.

Thanks for the comments.

Johnny

Honestly...

GOOD POINTS...

The trunk looks good...The screen looks TIGHT as hell !!! NICE !!!

HORRIBLE, GOD AWEFUL NASTY JOB POINTS.....

The center piece looks horrible and if you look real close it doesnt look like it even should be there and looks added on and not smooth sticking out wat to far. A sticker on a nsx, anything fake or look alike a big NO NO.

The people that installed your system didnt know anything radio set-ups or they wouldnt of sold you two amps. PLus of all the brands you choose one of the crapiest(kicker), maybe in the early 90s id say do kicker. You could of achiceved what you have listed with one 4 channed amp. Putting the 2 for your doors and the other 2 bridged for your whoofer.

Putting that fake carbon sticker makes the car look really tacky!! THEN the whoofer OMG that is soooo tacky looking and i feel sorry for the passagner and hope you dont stop real fast or there goes a foot in your speaker.Did they even remove the stock boss footwell speaker? I Dought it.

Hope they greased there member before they stiffed that hard one where the sun dont shine....YOU GOT RIPPED!

Come on people these is a fine car, you dont need to go and make it look like a hupty trashy rigged up junker.

Overall 2 thumbs DOWN!!

YUK!!!

PS... You asked for an honest opinon.

PSS.. I have got to post my pics of my set up soon, from what I have seen noone has come even close to having a Dash/ system setup as good as mine.

Importwarriorsinsx,

Do you even own a nsx? HELLO space permits NO room. Althogh I personally did a fiber glass modling and I have a 10" MB quart duel voice sub(NOT visable hidden in footwell), Mb quarts QSD216 6" in the doors, a fosgate 750X 4 channel with a kenwood DPX-6020 double din head unit(not available in the US till dec02) tied into a Sony NW-9 MP3 player from the cd changer output and it rocks!!!!

Also give me a break talking about the bass in the front and not behind you. the NSX comes stock with the bass in the floor board and the cabin is so small that all or any sounds are together.

Putting speaker boxes behind the seat in a nsx OMG can we say TACKY!!

I bet you have fuzzy dice hanging from your mirrior, come on people this is a NSX we are talking about!

YES!!! I have WON compitions with MY set-up and YES all work was done by yours truley.

Well you wanted honesty and by God you got it from Bill. If I could figure out how to post pics of my install I would.

Buzz Off Audio in Tampa did mine. I looks very clean and stealth IMO.
I'm a little afraid of showing though now that I see what kind of responses you can get on here.

If you are happy with the install then don't worry about anything.

Bill,
I hope that you are talking about something you have done to your system since NOPI. If you haven't done anything then I would lay off the hammering on his install and choice of products. From what I remember you only had a double DIN in the dash and maybe some aftermarket speakers as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
And has for saying that NOBODY has a dash/system as good as yours, well that is a matter of opinion right. I assume you can back up that statement with trophies you have collected for the STEREO in competition. Maybe something like ISACA or USAC. Until then...

I personnaly prefer the stock setup in the center console to the squared off aftermarket units. Doesn't blend in very well with the rest of the dash IMO.

Carma,
Call Andy @ BuzzOff to see if he has some pics of the install he did on my car and see what you think. I can PM some to you if you would like.

Kenwood is nice, but something double din like that should have a lot more features. DVD and MP3 at least!

First off I'm not trying to put you down in any way Importwarrior, but you seem to have the wrong idea about sound quality, also I don't think this system was intended for competition anyways.

I'm not sure what competitions you've been to but when a system is judged on sound quality it is judged on how good it duplicates a live concert not a home theater surround sound system. When was the last time you went to a concert and the band was playing all around you? The idea is to get a good sound stage front and center, many sound quality competitors have opted to mount the subs up front or in the center console to achieve this. Since the sub is usually crossed over below 100hz it does not matter if the sub is mounted off to the side, at that low of a frequency the sound is non-directional and our ears are not able to pick up exactly where it's coming from, unlike the higher frequencies that come from the component speakers.

By the way, is that one of my center consoles?

Craig

Hi Craig,

This is one of your consoles, its the one chris @ SoS had. I need some help. The shop that did the centre console CF look sticker picked the cheapest one out there. (my car will never go back there). What would you suggest to make the centre console look better.

Also are offering the custom sub enclsure yet.

Johnny
