Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Excellent progress. We'll be cruising back from Traverse in both machines in no time!

I'm looking forward to that.

I'm going to try to make it out to Bakers before I move.

When is the move scheduled?

We would like to meet up at Baker's before you go, hopefully it's not on a < wait for it > race weekend ;-P

Odds-n-ends

Finally managed to get up early enough on a Saturday morning to check out the Lgnfltr sponsored Cars-N-Coffee gathering. The Motor City Viper Club was out, and going for a drive afterwards.

I liked this vanity plate!

Eric's gorgeous 612 -

And a Mac

Baker's this afternoon!

sigh...last of the grad parties today....

Dan Shook came over on Saturday to give the red car the first detailing / paint correction of it's 22 year life.

Like Patrick's car, it really looks fantastic now.

Time to consider a clear bra???

The BEATINGS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE

morale improves. :frown:

Young female driver creamed our daughter in rush hour last Friday PM (raining) MP 43 on the M-14/US-23 freeway just north of Ann Arbor, MI, between the tripledeckers as daughter was proceeding NB on US-23. 4 car chain collision. Her 2004 Accord 4 door hit rear and in turn, trashed front. Per Encompass today, totalled at $8045.+ (NO bags blown, no glass broken). Moved today to Copart Woodhaven. Options open. Retain? Take total payout? Looking - anyone have something nice and trustworthy to move? Just love no-fault, and eating that deductible.

Four week old girl in daughter's right rear seat, baby-seat and secured, but one always wonders about whiplash....... ugh.

Glad she's ok Neal!! Praying & fingers crossed the granddaughter is 100% a-ok. Btw congrats on the new granddaughter!

Thank you, Andy.
Thank you, Jhae.

It's tough when the little one four weeks old cannot speak up......... probably needlessly worrying.
Anyway, Encompass (subsidiary of Allstate) waived the $500 deductible (THANK YOU, Encompass!), and I located what sounds like a pretty nice replacement - 2007 Accord EX-L with 65K miles, white w/beige, one owner, around $12,800 out the door.

First and foremost I am so glad everyone is okay! That's a relief.

In terms of the vehicle... Total it! Don't think twice. If it's an option go for it.

In finishing up the purple boostmonster's reassembly, several more pounds worth of parts were able to be deleted.

The A/C bracket and A/C Idler pulley assembly aren't going back on, which is at least 5 pounds right there.

The two rear ABS sensors and their harnesses are also not needed since this car has a dual Tilton Master setup.

Since the rear swaybar was removed when Cody built the car, we found new through-bolts to replace the ones with the factory drop links.

Finally, there were 2 stamped steel rear valance brackets that were just holding up air, so buh-bye

Jeebus, that thing is gonna haul.

My block should be at LoveFab on Tues, so hopefully some swift progress getting it back together and I'll have my car back in 2-3 weeks if all goes as planned. Which it always does, right? ;P

Ryan/Brian, your cars are no match in a straight line (or otherwise) for my bone stock 270 hp /94 -- LOL! Neal, glad daughter is ok and hopefully grandaughter also ok -- scary. My vote -- total the old Accord.

Best,
Jeff

I'll be back from clutch hell on Monday. :-(
