Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

I am in Toronto on some family business this weekend so hope to see some of you perhaps on July 4 weekend? I intend to do Cars and Coffee in Toledo Sunday 13 July weather permitting.

Dave, I'll take you on any day but no dragstrip starts -- I propose a 60-150 run -- its just not in me to torture the machinery by sidestepping the clutch from a standing start. I hear a good friend of mine is installing a clutch in an NSX this weekend. Despite our friendship I am reasonably certain he would be less than enthusiastic about having to do that same job for me anytime soon. And then there is the hell I would catch from him if I toasted the clutch having a drag race with you......

^^^ A little smack talk on this Thread, that's kind of a novel new development for us local NSX'ers.

I think Dave is a good influence around here ;-P

Brian

Is that smack I hear from The Barrister? Hmmm....

Count me in for Toledo on July 13th. I still have fond memories of last year's run down from Ann Arbor with Jeff and Neal.

Jeff - I'm with you; I have no interest in sidestepping my clutch. But you might be too distracted scanning for potholes to remember to push the gas pedal all the way down.

There must be a clutch virus going on..... hope to pick my ride up later after being down for two weeks. Been going crazy.... all this great weather and no NSX! Aargh!

Patrick, think of all the miles you are saving. Dave, love your response -- you are probably correct. I can tell you I have never gone into a chuckhole with the NSX. My radar is on full alert whenver I drive her. And speaking of the drag race see email to follow if I can find what I want to send you.

anyone doing C&C at Lingenfelter Wixom on Saturday?

Before hitting Baker's yesterday, a handful of local NSX'ers had the rare treat of checking out Kris Kopacki's car collection.

While mostly comprised of modern-to-older American hardware, there are a few motorcycles, his NSX and my personal favorite.......a 1968 Honda S800.

It was cool noting the generation gap between our first-year S2000 and the S800, it's really a shame that the S600 & S800 never made it to the US as they would have been a game-changing car over here in the 1960's!

wife and I are planning on Friday!

Anyone in SE MI have cv joint grease (the yellow stuff) on hand or know where I can get it in the area? Dealers don't seem to stock it. I have a boot that's slinging grease and may be out for this weekend if I can't get it fixed in time

Yes Dave, I have some on hand.

Brian

I think we'll try to make it Friday in the Z after work.

We were there from 3-6pm, only saw one person we knew (old PCA pal).

As always, LOTS of wonderful hardware to admire.....and truly perfect weather this year.

Let's hope the 'liquid sunshine' spares us much exposure during the (race) weekend.

Brian

Sorry I missed you! We ran into Neal about 8p or so, and Ryan & Bree just as we were packing up at 915ish...

today's cars and coffee highlights:
