Ryan, did you really post that message at 4:30 a.m.?? Guessing the little one isn't sleeping through the night just yet. I'm curious about who the high mileage champ is among our SE MI group. I bought my /94 in November /09 with 18,800 miles on the clock -- 48,300 now. So in 5.5 years I have put 29,500 miles on it. Yikes, that's approx. 5,300 miles/year. I need to stop driving so much. I drove the car a lot first couple/three years but last two years not so much. Looking forward to seeing the MI contingent at EST-FEST this weekend.

1300 sounds like a lot but to be fair, 1,000 of it was in the first 24 hours driving it home from Wichita. I did contact bram but we've already have plans for most of the weekend, have a pool to get open so we can swim. We were thinking of driving up saturday morning just for the day.
 
Jeff, I think the time settings must have been off...posted at 8:30 I think. But yes...sleep/freetime/living for myself....has all changed :) I'm just about to hit 58K in my car...got it with just over 29K...it's been 9 years...so I am will behind your annual average. My first year I put 7k on it...2k of it was just driving it home from El Paso.

Brian...let me know if you need a fix, I'm happy to hook you up :)
 
"Cold turkey" as in no boost for the better part of a year.

Are you guys still meeting at M-14 and beck tomorrow morning (what time?) to drive to Canada. Technically I'm working tomorrow, but if I'm working at home we might meet up with you and drive to Port Huron then go back home, just to meet everyone and drive. We're still planning on coming up Saturday all day.

Yes Bob, the plan is to meet at CJ's (Compuware Arena) at 10:45 or so with a targeted 11am departure time.

That's awesome that you got ahold of Bram and can join the ESTivities (I just made up a word ;-) on Saturday as well.

I'll PM you Judi's cell phone number, just in case!

Prep work -

+ inspected both NSX's, tire pressures/conditions, oil, trans fluid, and washed the IMOLA (much-needed).
+ strapped on the helmet - it has a fun feeling in it
+ found the wide, blue painter's tape :wink:
+ and a bunch of other gets and packs

Getting excited for a good first run of the driving season. :biggrin:

1045-1100 at CJ's on Beck NE corner of M-14. Maybe pick up some "baggage" on the way cross-town. :biggrin:

Don't forget your FRS radios / Motorola push to talks
 
Have a blast guys/gals! I'm jealous. We'll be spending the weekend visiting my family and introducing the little one.
I drove the NSX in this morning and gave a co-worker a ride. I can't publish his reaction on a public forum. :)

Seriously.......EST FEST at Grand Bend, Ontario is beyond epic!

CLIFF NOTES;

Jeff's car is faster than ours on the track (and I'm 'detail oriented' to say the least about the preparation of our red car).

Since the sponsoring New Car dealerships provided test cars to evaluate at Grand Bend Motorplex (thanks again Barry ;-).....as awesome as the current Civic Si is, although slower in terms of lap times the Toyota FR-S was actually more fun to exercise.

What ever you've read on the Forums about how the FR-S / BRZ twins lack TQ / HP is bunk!

Oh, and although I'm not a magazine test driver the FR-S is the only car with variable-assisted PS I've ever experienced that not only doesn't suck in terms of steering feel, but flat out rocked :cool:

Plus, Cindy came home with a big@zzed trophy for her 2005 LBBP creampuff (so when they asked at the border "do you have anything to declare" did she say OH YEAH ;-) ???

Brian, thanks so much for your excellent instruction and pointers both while riding shotgun and driving my car -- always a pleasure to have you help me improve my skills. You are very generous with your time and sharing your knowledge and I thank you again for that. I think that one's instructor either makes or breaks the enjoyment factor in any HPDE setting and even in an open track setting some help (at least for me) is both welcome and lessens my anxiety level about putting a close to irreplaceable vehicle on a track.

I thought that the event put on by our Canadian friends was fantastic. Great setting, fun track and the fact that Barry made those other cars available -- props to the NSX Club of Canada! Also a great group of people for sure.

I both drove and rode in the FRS three times - agree with Brian - very fun car. I think Dave coined the term "friendly" for that car -- agree totally. I think the FRS is probably a very good learning tool for the track.

Nice work Cindy! Neal gave me a ride on track in your car -- loved it.

Brian, glad you had an opportunity to drive my car and pronounced it "happy". The reason you perceived my car as a bit faster than yours is that hamster running around in circles that is hiding deep in the engine compartment. Rob installed that for me last fall -- LOL. Only problem is that after a few laps on track the hamster gets a case of heat soak.

Joe, Bob, Laurie and Ann-Marie, nice to have met you and hope to see you again. And great to spend time with the rest of our MI gang and some friends old and new from Ontario.

Bob, thanks for letting me tag along with you on way home Saturday night -- made the ride better and sorry if my gps took us along a road that was a bit bumpy. I would have preferred to stay over Saturday night but didn't want to be away from Amy and David too long over a holiday weekend. It was the right decision.

Thanks to you as well Judi for the lead and follow session -- that was also very helpful and instructive! I forgot for a moment who was driving your red car during that session -- funny you and Brian both look alike from the rear with those helmets on!
 
My jealousy factor is through the roof guys. Glad you had a great time. I spent the weekend racking up 1300 miles behind the wheel of the Range Rover visiting a bunch of family and introducing them to the newest addition.
