Michigan check-in & spotting by blodi pt.2

Sorry, the red ones all look the same to me.

How come my car never gets to be in front?? It most certainly is one of the prettiest stock /94s (ok, so it has an OEM header to muffler system but as far as I am concerned it is stock). Please do better next time Rob -- LOL.

is this one yours?

We're returning from Vegas to the airport, then driving home to Ontario. I think it would be great to touch base with some of the locals which I've only met on our side of the border or even meet up with a new person or two!

Sean, give us a bit more detail on your travel plans -- are you heading back home from Detroit Metro by car or otherwise? Send me a PM and let me know what your schedule is after you touch down -- there are some great breakfast places but not necessarily near airport.

Best,
Jeff

PS -- loved Bram's exchange with doc yesterday -- exactly what other "services" does the NSX Club of Canada provide? Depending on the answer you might find your membership increasing exponentially.

Rob, thank you. Much better! For those reading who don't know the MI gang -- Rob has a very nice NA2 spa yellow.

Sean, if you are willing to slightly deviate from your path home (instead of heading east on I-94 to tunnel/bridge) head up I-275 towards Plymouth/Farmington Hills there are a number of excellent breakfast places and I would be happy to meet up -- I don't think there's much around airport. I'll PM you my cell -- might be easier just to touch base by telephone. Neal/Cindy and Brian/Judi (and anyone else who wants to meet up with Sean and share some of his Vegas winnings) feel free to weigh in. There are a few really good breakfast places in these parts. Breakfast Club is one (there are a couple of locations in Farmington Hills -- I'll check out Plymouth area (closer to airport and Neal/Brian) and then there is a place called The Original Pancake House -- it is fantastic. My Dad who comes to visit from Toronto frequently raves about this place and there really is little like it in Ontario. It makes Cora's in Toronto look pretty mediocre. Sean, I'll send you my cell later today.

Best,
Jeff

Awesome showing guys! I had a really busy Sunday but I was finally able to adjust the ride height to take my wife on her first ride in the nsx. Went on a nice drive down Hines drive.

Sorry, I didn't see this yesterday when I replied.

I'll give the quick run down of some of the many member benefits:

o We are a registered not for profit organization, recognized by the Federal Government.
o Support from Honda Canada. Many of you were at Est-Fest this year, and the dinner on Saturday night; as well as the golf shirts and phone chargers were all provided by Honda at no cost. We try to be good brand ambassadors.
o Great friendships - Personally, when I was looking for a car, lots of cars were in the same budget range of the NSX; but the people kept me coming back.
o Membership welcome gift. This year it is an awesome license plate frame in any one of 4 color combinations, last year was a golf shirt, etc.
o Exclusive invitations to attend many Club functions, including but not limited to: Interesting scenic tours, trips to incredible car events, Honda Indy, museums, car manufacturing plants, and go karting to name a few. Many of these are provided at no cost to the members, and the ones that do have charges associated have a greatly reduced fee based on our buying power through great attendance.
o Invitation to our annual Membership Renewal Party in February
o Invitation to Est Fest, our annual celebration of NSX owners in May
o Invitation to our summer, fall and many impromptu cruises.
o Invitation to our annual Honda Plant Tour and BBQ in Alliston, Ontario
o Discounts (20%) on OEM parts and labor at Acura of Oakville
o Discounts (20%) on OEM parts and labor at Erin Mills Acura
o Access to one of the best NSX technician (Robert Magro) in the Province. While he has recently made a career move to Porsche, he is still fully committed to our members both as Technical Director, and an active executive on our board.
o Membership to the Canadian Automobile Sports Club, Ontario Region (CASC‐OR) as NSXCC is an affiliated member. One of the benefits of affiliation with the CASC is access to insurance coverages granted exclusively to CASC affiliated clubs. That means, if there is ever an incident during one of our gatherings, no member of the club can be held personally liable (assuming they weren't involved)
o The Club has a small inventory of used NSX parts that are available for loan and sale. (email us for details)

That's by no means an exhaustive list, but we strive to keep all of our gatherings and daily club business professional. We have heard from members of other clubs that this seems to be a rare occurrence. Respecting the relatively small size of Ontario, we think we do pretty well, considering we have nearly 60 paid members for 2015, and regularly have 20+ members join us on club cruises. That being said, we do have members from across North America, but we're more focused in Southern Ontario as that's where the bulk of the members; and all of the executives live.

I hope that described our services pretty well.

don't forget group sponge baths.....

Doc, glad to hear you feel that way about us Canadians. As a Canadian living in the US sometimes I have the feeling that the US government (not necessarily the general population) forgets who its friends are. Not wanting to make a political statement/offend anyone but link below is interesting for those of us who were around during the Iranian hostage crisis and a very good read for those of us who were not. I hope the link actually works. And indeed, having attended a number of events put on by the NSX Club of Canada they are a class act all the way.

Well said Jeff! Required watching is the movie version (Argo, 2012, starring Clooney, Goodman, Afleck, which won 3 Oscars).

We were just parking as I saw Patrick leaving Bakers yesterday...just caught Brian and Judi on their way out.

I was leaving work Thursday and a random guy started filming me....by the time I got home I was getting text messages about the video online of me....over 10K views haha...the internet is a small world.

Me too. Awesome!

Speaking of sound, my car needs a little more of it. Anyone have any thoughts (positive or negative) about the Pride V2 exhaust? That's what I'm leaning toward and getting ready to pull the trigger.

Any recommendations for S2000 expert mechanics in the area? My good friend is having hesitation at the higher RPMs and slippage in 4th he's replaced a few things but still was not able to fix it. He doesn't want to take to take it to the dealers, would prefer your guys recommendation. It's a 2006 with about 105k, completely stock.

Thanks

Ryan, it was great seeing you at Baker's, even if only for a couple minutes........

Dave, sorry no input on the Pride V2.

Hass, any codes on the S2000? Sounds like it's time to check the plugs & coilpacks at a minimum.
-------Slippage in 4th = clutch?

Big car show weekend coming up

Friday evening, July 10th: Rolling Sculpture Car Show, 2-10 pm in downtown Ann Arbor.

Saturday all day: Michigan Avenue Cruise day in / around Wayne, MI.

Sunday: Toledo Cars-n-Coffee, 9-1130 am in new location near old location, Sylvania Twp, OH.

We'll be in Milwaukee for the Indy car race. The S2000 group is driving the drivers around the track again this year.

I was doing some bicycling this afternoon in what seems this year for me to be a losing battle to get back into form and drop a bunch of weight. As I rode around Walled Lake a red NA1 passed me -- had a vanity plate -- something along the lines of CE ME GO. I've never seen this car before. Anyone know who it is? As well, one of my colleagues snapped a pic of a blue NSX a couple of weeks ago and sent it to me. It was not a LBBP -- older than /02-05. I don't think I've every seen that car before.

I wanted badly to go to Rolling Sculpture, but just couldn't get out of work early enough.
I did go to the High PSI Racing grand opening show in Ypsi on Saturday. Managed to get the NSX and Z both out there with the help of a friend. Great time, some serious cars there.

^^^ Nice videos Ryan!

Will the owner of this beautiful 1996 please post up in this thread to say HI?

We met Steve at the Rolling Sculpture show, and believe that he'll make a fine addition to the local 'crew'

Hello all,

Proud to finally introduce my car to the local group. Car is from California and drove all the way back to Plymouth in three days (couldn't stop driving). It was indeed the drive of a lifetime and a good opportunity to get to know the car. Coming from an S2000 AP2, I'm a little bit surprised by how much heavier the steering is on these cars. But its not a bad thing...

Looking forward to meeting you all! I expect I'll show up to CJ's one of these Wednesdays.

Best,
Brennan
