    rss feeder help, please

    short version:
please recommend an rss feeder for a website of mine.

    hal-version:
as a personal project, over the past 2.5 years i've been writing a book to help emerging isv's (software companies) increase their sales by implementing (basic) sales management practices. as of 3 weeks ago, there were ~4k downloads of the material, generated by word of mouth.

i've recently added new content designed to help them optimize their operational and cultural issues so they can more effectively leverage their (now hopefully) brighter future. now downloads are at ~7k.

i have much more content to rinse / put up for download - this is the really good stuff, so now i'd like to have my web guy install rss on my site, but we're not familiar with rss feeders. if you use one you'd recommend, i'd appreciate hearing from you.

the site is www.isvprime.com (downloads page is where rss would be)

    thx,
    hal
Success is not about where you live, but about how far you've come.

    Hi Hal.

I noticed your site has a blog which has a built-in RSS feed. My first thought is to use this as your RSS feed and make it a practice to post a blog entry anytime you add new content to your site. I'm thinking the blog content could be an abstract of or intro to your PDF content followed by a link to the PDF. (I'm assuming the content you'll be adding is like the PDF stuff that's already there.)

A blog seems like a simple way to author the stuff that goes into a feed (date, subject, content). You also have the ability to organize your content or separating entries related to PDF content from all your other posts by tagging them.

Do you have a need that the blog approach does not address?

thx a bunch for the quick feedback.

that's actually the approach i'm thinking of taking @ this point, since i only use the blog as a delivery - and not discussion - mechanism.

i'm curious, is your take that most interested folks would also check out the blog as a matter of routine?

all feedback is appreciated - thanks for yours.
