How long will CF remain popular for looks?

Not including the stength and lightness factors, how long do you think people will keep adding carbon fiber parts to their cars just for looks?

I think it's always been the combination. It's usually not too cost effective but I've never been a fan of CF just for looks. Doing what it takes to go fast never goes out of style.

It will be around until racing finds the next big thing. CF if very functional in their builds designs. However the transition to street use varies from car to car. I think some CF is a nice add on, but there is also such a thing as overkill. But then you start going into personal tastes. I for example am quite happy with a CF spoiler, vent, and engine cover. However I have seen other cars with CF for every body panel, which I think is in the overkill section for street use. But again, thats just my taste.

Carbon Fiber will be cool as long as its used in the racing industry. CarbonKevlar might be the next step or in another 20 years, Carbon Nanotube technology

it use to look cool, but personaly i think its too common and everyday now, your not a baller unless its dry carbon!

im not hating on carbon fiber its good at what it does, i just dont care for glossy finish showing off the weaved black and grey strands, id rather paint it and have the clean look with the lightness and strength(and dent free) cf stuff

Re: How long will CF remain popular for looks?

I think people will like it as long as it's a race only material.
As soon as they figure out how to mass produce it(and I think they will) and every car out there is made out of it to get better gas mileage, it will lose it's cool.
