been making my coffee with one of these for 20yrs http://www.bialetti.com/www.bialetti...u370ef2f5eofv6 as mentioned above
find a good local roaster and get whole beans (enough for a week) and just buy a grinder that grind enough for each brew use filtered water and use whatever heat source on low heat, we have a gas hobb it takes about 20min to brew

Still interested in any specific recommendations for a burr grinder not made in China. Disappointed to see my overpriced (but awesome) Breville frothed that I received as a gift clearly marked "designed and engineered in Australia" on the box sneakily marked made in China hidden in small print under the item. Yes I'm being lazy and looking for experts here who might now instead of me researching, but I have a better chance of learning new things (like the water recommendations). And I don't want to create yet another login & password at a www.coffeeprime.com forum where I'd find the answer easily but probably be surrounded by Toyota Prius and BMW/Audi drivers. :)
