    Suspension advice

After some spirited driving this weekend, I've come to the conclusion that my NSX is a handful to drive at speed.

The car....93 with approx. 35K miles and bone stock with the exception of OZ Superleggeras 17/18 combo and Goodyear GSD3s.

First problem, dips really upset the car. Compression is alittle weak, but rebound is really light. Front end wouldn't float exactly, but it traveled way too high up the suspension travel for my tastes. Plus when it did this, the steering response had a very elastic feel (no other way I can describe it)

I'm wondering that despite the low miles, the years have taken their toll on the stock shocks. Thoughts?

Any ideas on what's causing the weird steering response? Could it be the compliance gizmos? If so, how is the ride, steering effected if they are removed?

Second problem, long sweepers and quick transitions will overwhelm the sways and I feel like the car is maxed out on the stops way too early. Wondering if this is a combination of stock sways and worn out shocks?

I'd like a good setup for the street that can be driven at a moderate pace with total confidence. Not interested in droping the ride height as this is a daily driver and I need some clearance.

    Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Sounds like you need new dampers (shocks). Yes although you have little mileage on your car, your shocks could have lost a lot of its valving/damping.

Everything you described sounds like a damper problem, or lack of damping. Not quite sure about the 'elastic' comment but the steering response will be greatly improved with newer dampers.

I'm going to do a write up on my bilstein setup I just did in a few days, but I REALLY like it. I agree with above, it sounds like to me your shocks are too old.

    My complete setup:
    - NSX Type-R Front Sway
    - NSX Type-R Chassis Bars
    - Bilstein Shocks

    It handles like a supercar.

Sounds very much like my former 91. I replaced the stock shocks with Bilsteins and the handling and feel was night and day. Supercar performance afterwards!

Thats how my car feels right now with 60k on the stock shocks and aftermarket springs. Kinda scary.

I currently have Stance coilovers on the way. Otherwise Bilsteins are a great choice as well.

I did the exact same thing with the exact same results.

Note that the Bilsteins come with two perches, and you can mount them using either one. One perch lowers the car 7/8" and the other one maintains the stock ride height. I went with the stock ride height and I've been very happy with it.
    NSX. Spread the word.
