ANYbody own a Zarnadi edition

I own one, but have never driven it to Sacto. I'm told that about 8 were sold in the greater SF Bay Area, so they're not that rare here. I've only ever run into one other one on the road though...

Is the steering-assist(or lack of) as bad as they say in the articles? Meaning, do you get a good arm workout driving it around?

Compared to a power assisted NSX-T, the lack of power steering in the Z is VERY noticeable and when driving through tight switchbacks, steering effort is notably high. On the plus side, road feel is excellent. Unfortunately, I haven't ever driven an early coupe (which also lacks power assist) for comparison, so I don't know if the Z has the same or worse steering effort vs one of those...

I actually rode in number 45 just a few weeks back. I was considering installing the Zanardi edition springs and shocks but ended up buying the Comptech coilovers..
Zanardi springs/shocks were waay too stiff for everyday comfort..

The coupes and the Zanardi use the same steering gear don't they? Remember that even if it's an early coupe, it may have power-assist (the automatics came with powerassist even in 91).

No, they Zanardis use the new ratio, just without the power assist. The original manual steering coupes have a different ratio.

Lud: Thanks for the info on the steering ratio. Since the Z has variable ratio (according to FAQ), its "feel" can't be directly compared to an early coupe (fixed ratio) based only on the specs. The best way of meaningfully comparing the two is to just drive them both, which I haven't done - but if anyone has, please post.

Maksha: The question you posed is somewhat indelicate, so I'll just answer it this way - with options, taxes, fees, and supercharger installed, it was into 6 figures (but worth it). FYI, you couldn't get a good deal on any interesting cars in Silicon Valley in the late 90s due to the ridiculous stock bubble. Even now, you can't get a new Porsche 911 TT, BMW M3/M5/Z8, Ferrari 360 out here for anywhere near list with current delivery...

I think it's similar up here in Portland and would suspect the same in Seattle. When looking for my NSX I found the price on the West Coast definitely higher than other parts of the US.

I live in Kansas and the demand is so low, the Zanardi NSX in Superior Acura was there for more than a year and I believe it was sold for $66-$68K

Consider yourself lucky then. You're in a great market. I've put down a deposit on a 911TT and haven't heard anything for almost a year. I tried to put down a deposit on an E46 M3 with two local dealers and both declined (Allison and Stevens Creek).

I had the same experience as I offered to pay cash up-front for the S2000 before it started shipping and the dealers wouldn't even take my money. I was at the local dealer 2 weeks ago and they had a mark up on the S2000 of $10k. So it was listing out in the mid $40's. I pointed to my NSX (95T) and told him I didn't pay that much more for it. He just smiled.

For what it's worth a friend of mine bought an S2K here at list...32,000 when he just walked into the dealer about a month ago. They have and can get more...

Is the S2000 back to sticker now in your area. I didn't check in my area, but I have a friend that just bought a 2001 yellow S2000 in Nov. 2000 for sticker in Boston, MA but I also know someone paid $50K for S2000 in San Jose last year.

I test-drove the S2000 the week it came out in No. California. The mark-up was $30K. That's right, the dealer wanted over $60,000 for the car. Now you can get them for list.
