NSX in snow

I got the wal-mart all seasons, but they are the shits, have to get a set of blizzz acts!
I was thinking a nicely done set of mudflaps, custom design would be cool.
Maybe use Jeffs old avatar stuck on it in chrome.
Trev
Don't laugh, just wait.

so youre actually serious???

anyways, i have blizzaks on my civic and they work pretty well...

The NSX was built for a lot of things...off-roading, rock-climbing, submarine-like diving, gliding, flying, and most of all driving in snow. forget chains, go with tank tread.:biggrin:

I personally think that a snow blade on the front is necessary right after winter tires, chains, and mud flaps.

for heaven-sake, store your car for winter.
buy a chevy chevette (remember those) for $120 and use it for winter.
please don't subject this awesome vehicle to the tortures of a winter. Putting winter tires on an NSX is like putting a screen door on a submarine, it just doesnt work.. whats more disturbing to me, is that there are actually people making recommendations on winter tires, goodness gracious......

Ha...awaits for Meeyatch to come post in this one

You don't need a lift kit if you got Blizzaks. Don't get the chains because it feels like you're ruining the car when you drive it. I had chains on a 84 Supra and it drove horrible. The traction is good but you feel like you're punishing your car.

That was awesome!

Does any one recommend any snow chains for my tires and some mud flaps. Maybe a lift kit also for the snow.

I see SoCal got some white powder (the stuff that falls from the sky). Didn't you previously live in Vegas? They got some too!

Hopefully you'll not require snow tires anymore this year. Go global warming!

Agreed. Why is common sense so un-common anymore?

Too funny.

I think I'll be going with the Blizzak WS-60 this year on the S. I hope I can find some 225/50R16's locally before the winter clinic on Sunday.

I have 2 NSX's one will be for snow the other for Mudding. Any one in on mudding? Come on guys the NSX was made for this. The car I don't dive in the winter or rain is the IROC. The Camara is in the garage during winter because that sweet ride is hard to replace.

So I will start the list on mudding.

1.VampNSX
2?
3?
4?

only ten NSX's can come so sign up because the list will fill up fast.

I use to do that with my MR2.
Aw, fun times!

Being from the Great White North, I have driven Vettes in the snow and I have driven the NSX...I found the NSX to be very scary because it did not have the weight in the front...the Vette was easier to handle on normal ice-laden streets...and the Vette is an easier fix when it gets hit by someone who has no experience driving in wintery conditions...you may rock at driving - but its the others that scare me...and a bad accident will leave you crying when you have to fight with your insurance company over the true value of your write-off! Leave her in the garage and drive a Winter-beater!

Get a proper set of winter tyres, and there will be no need for chains. Chains might cause a lot of damage to your car if they are not properly fit.
I am not sure what kind of winter tyres you can get in NA/Canada.
In Europe there is a big difference between winter tyres sold in mid-/south Europe and those in the Scandinavian market where we have snowy/icy roads for 4-6 months. Sandaniavian tyres so not last long on bare roads at high speed (I have tried).
Non-Scandinavian winter tyres are quite slippery on the winter surface. I am sure there are similar differences in NA as well.

Honda produces snow chains for the nsx, they're in the JDM accessories catalog:
