Gordon Murray owned a series 1 NSX for years.

Danny Sullivan once told me the only car that could outhandle the NSX was the McLaren SLR.

So the NSX was one of the design inspirations for the McLAren F1

ah... old article. Plus, it's the McLaren F1 not the SLR. The SLR is a boat captained by people such as Paris Hilton.
