How long will it take someone to stick a 50' or 100' hose on it and kill themselves? Cool though.

Note: I am in no way claiming that adding hose length alone is sufficient. The engine, pump and impeller could require additional performance modifications to go higher.

The length of the hose has nothing to do with how high it can propel itself into the air. And for that price, I could have way more fun at the track!

I expect to see home brewed versions of these in the future as the technology is pretty fundamental. Now if SeaDoo were to make one....

This jetpack thingy uses a jet ski-like device to force water up the hose. You tow it behind you. The length of the hose has everything to do with how high you can propel yourself into the air. Well, and the strength of the engine.

Not to mention the fact that the pump has to fight gravity for the water-- the higher the pump the more energy it needs to lift the water.

Lightbulb Lets analyze this for a moment.

So how does the length of the hose relate to the strength of the water leaving the side pods???? You could make the hose 200' long, but the amount of water that the turbine induction motor moves would only be forced through at a limiting rate. If the rate allows a height of 30' with 60' of hose, than longer hose will not do anything but increase the volume of water that must be brought up to pressure in order to create lift. It will decrease response and add weight.

I disagree with your first statement. However, your suggestion that "engine strength" matters is correct.

You're right, let me add a disclaimer to my first comment so it is super clear that adding hose length to go higher may not be enough. The engine, pump and impeller could require additional performance modifications. I hate to mislead anyone.

Now if they could hook it to a jet ski so the jet ski would be a foot or so off the surface of the water, WOO HOO. stevie boy would be buying that pronto-tonto. Could you imagine the acceleration without the friction created with the contact of water against the ski. OMG!!!
