Oil filter and transmission oil change questions

I jut purchased a 94 NSX with 50k miles.

I have always done oil changes myself.

I jus picked up a Fram Oil Filter and oil for the engine at Checker.

I also picked up a bottle of oil for the manual transmission.

My questions is this...is it realativity simple to change the oil and filter on an NSX?

How about the manual tranmission oil?

Is Fram oil filter okay to use?

Any secrets, hints, experience, etc., would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Just jack up the passenger side of the car and remove the rear wheel. The oil filter is right there and access to the drain plug is just an arms reach awaay. As mentioned already, use an OEM filter and 10w-30 oil and you're good to go. The entire job should take about 20 minutes.

Make sure you have at least 3 qts. of Honda/Acura Manual Transmission Lubricant. Another important tip:
Remove the fill plug before removing the drain plug. Some of them are very tight. If you can't get it out, at least
you won't get stuck with a transmission with no oil in it.

Transmission fill plug? I thought there was just one (drain plug) and you fill the transmission oil back into that plug until it starts to drip out. Am I missing something here (fill plug), which would make this job a lot easier?

Would not recommend Fram Oil filter.
Changing both engine oil and transmission oil is fairly simple. Use a good set of jacks if you are going under the car.
I discovered this during my last engine oil change. If you wrap the some aluminum foil around the component in the video at 2:20, it will save you some clean up time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsoUv03iToo
Simply remove aluminum foil after your done.
You will need more than 1 bottle of transmission fluid. I think many members use Honda/Acura MTF (not all).
When changing your transmission fluid, make sure you can loosen the fill plug before loosening the drain plug.
Removing the driver rear tire will allow you to fill the transmission fluid without having to open your engine bay. Fill hole will be visible when the tire is removed.

Don't use Fram. On many other applications they have resulted in a oil pressure drop.

Always use OEM.

Mobil1 synthetic 10W30 now comes in large 5.28 qt bottles which is the perfect amount. Use the OEM oil filter, preferably the "long" version if you can find it, 15400-PL2-004 I think.

The tranny holds 2.9 qts of MTF. Honda MTF is widely recommended and is available from the dealer for I think $7 per bottle. The newest version has a white cap. It's recommended to have a long clear tube on a funnel. The top of the funnel is anchored in the engine compartment and the end of the tube goes in the tranny filler hole. A second pair of hands helps to keep the tube from coming out of the filler hole and spilling MTF all over (ask me how I know).

It's recommended to use new crush washers for oil and MTF drain plugs, but probably not the end of the world if you replace those every other fluid change. Just check for leaks afterwards.

Have you considered using the search or just looking it up on Amsoil's site?

Anyone here use Amsoil for the tranny?

If so, which one do you use?

My question was presented since it appears that there are more than one option for Amsoil based on what the dealers have presented to me.

I contacted 5 different Amsoil Dealers and 4 various technicians that answer the Amsoil "Hotline" and got different recommendations for the NSX:

At this point I was looking for experience.
