Bad ass. At least we know it can be done!
They shouldve done this a long time ago before they killed it. Im wondering what the point behind this is tho!?!?

Sme of the comments below are funny, people hating on the idea of a V6 over the 4...
That would've made a good Acura, but I wouldn't want a Honda sports car with a large, conventional V6Dude the point of the S2000 is to have the lightest possible configuration aka Uber High Revving V4. Stick the Lazy Acura v6 in something else.
when I test drove the S2K that was one thing I hated, you had to wind the hell out of it to get it going, that would just get old. Car definitely need more torque. I have considered one still but only if its FI.
^ Actually on my fourth S2K so it actually hasn't gotten old yet. Hondas are rarely tqy. Plus the low tq is nice for winter driving.

If HPD is officially affiliated with Honda, this might be part of Honda's search for a more 'pedestrian' sport model to compete with the 370Z. They've been so savaged in the press for bailing on F1, the NSX and the S2000, that perhaps the message is finally starting to get through to Ito and the higher-ups?

I guess I never thought about since when I want more power it's always nice to hop into the NSX. Your right I wonder how the car would've sold if they had offered the V6 as an option.
Wow can you guys even imagine Honda giving engine options on one of their sportscars
LOL Yeah I know from a post on Vtec.net 6spdterror thinks it's insane as well , but honestly the VSA on the S2000 takes all the drama out when combined with snow tires.
As to Honchos reply I think this is the same group that put a RDX engine in the Element. I doubt any of this criticism is giving Ito san pause as you have to have nuts to know when your being kicked in them![]()

Wow imagine if one of these guys had been named! Even if for only five years Honda would go back to having "enthusiast options again"
Although I do give Honda credit for the six speed manual TL SHAWD. Performing right at the 2010 S4 and 335i performance levels for thousands less. Too bad the looks are so polarizing. I like it but I know most would "nuke it" ..LOL

what transmission did they use in that thing? as far as i know, all of the honda/acura v6's are all transverse mounted...
or did they mate the S2000's transmission with the TL-S's v6?

The difference in weight is roughly 120 lbs. Mounted against the firewall and with a few accessories moved the trunk (battery, i.e.), the dynamics would not be substantially altered IMO.

Too bad the NSX was transverse mounted.....

Drop the same 3.4 liter V-8 that is supposed to be in the HSV-10 GT and that would be a decent performer!
or drop in a hyabusa v8 with a sequential...that thing would be a beast...

Hayabusa... H1V8...Would it be a good option for an NSX?
Should be easier than an LS7?
Hmm.
