and not only are they probably all scams, but you'd make your car a much better target for LIDAR.

Thanks you for your opinion Cozmo. Now, let's let someone that has experience with some of the products comment

I agree and am eagerly awaiting their responses too.

Dude, watch mythbusters or surf youtube once in a while...

The spays and films have all been "busted" as effective means of obscuring your plate from a camera. Instead of a picture of a dirty plate, they get a picture of a shiny plate...

The only thing that I might consider would be the license plate louver thingy (google it, I'm not advertising anything here). The theory is that the louvers will obscure the plate from the higher-angle camera, but it would still be plainly visible to an officer in a car following you (theoretical compliance with the law in most states).

I'm not going to bother because for now, we only have red-light cameras so far where I live in TN, and frankly if you blow a light, you deserve a ticket, and a flogging.

Those aids are not just illegal overhere, but HIGHLY illegal.
I remember how another idea was using a flash-slave on the car next to he licenseplate. If i remember correctly, they were to slow.
Also noticed the cops are using a different wavelength for the flash these days, no more white flash, but a dark red flash.

Re: Best anti-camera license plate spray - cover

I am curious. Do you have a update? Has anyone on the forum tried the spray?
Sounds like it might be a few months/years before law enforcement gets the spray outlawed. They get technology, we get technology, then they outlaw the technology.
Wondering....

and MythBusters showed that the best results were the Overexposed picture of the plate with the Spray on thing was the winner.

but I have been thinking about cutting into my rear bumper and moving the plate deeper into the bumper. with the high angle cameras, they would not be able to get the plate number but still visible to a cop car that is behind me. will post pics if i do it this weekend. but I can say I will not test it out. I have to many points on my License as it is.

When sprays are outlawed, only outlaws will have sprays.

I was also thinking if you were to use high gloss automotive clearcoat with a ton of white/silver pearl in it , it would still appear normal to the naked eye yet the flash would turn it all white.

Cities have shortened yellow lights

Sorry if I'm late to the discussion, but here in Texas many municipalities have actually shortened the time the light stays yellow.

Wonder why????????????

My brother in law is a cop so I know first hand what they go through, and the cops are following orders from above, but for the cities it's much safer and more profitable to pull over a motorist trying to get to work on time and speeding a little, as opposed to fighting REAL crime where there are criminals with weapons and the city has to PAY.

Sure, criminals get pulled over for speeding and the cops find drugs/weapons, but the person in the business attire driving a late model Accord at 6:30 AM and driving 15 mph over the limit is most likely not in the act of committing a SERIOUS crime. Ever notice something about the show "COPS"? About 90% of the criminals that they pull over and find drugs or weapons are after dark.

As with anything else, follow the money and you will most likely find your answer.

Are you guys really that worried about getting pulled over, or just getting away with speeding?

OK, so what happens when you go over a toll bridge? Does it obscure your plate then, because that could save a lot of $$$...

I cannot say these things work for sure. But I have photoblocker spray on my car. There are speed cameras in I-95 and do 80mph the majority of the time and never got a ticket and have passed red lights and have never got a ticket. My brothers car has no spray and has got a speeding ticket and a red light ticket. I never got news of tickets. So I guess no news is good news. I sprayed it all my families cars and so far been lucky with no tickets, and I honestly speed alot.
