    Experience with bilstien/eibach

I'm planning of upgrading my 91 OEM shocks/eibach with Bilstien shocks/eibach spring setup. I'm running 18/19 wheels and would really appreciate your inputs....

    - Advantage/disavantage of Bilstien/Eibach in UPPER perch? How's the wheel well gap?

    - Advantage/disavantage of Bilstien/Eibach in LOWER perch? Would this be too low?

    - For those who has Bilstien shocks. Do they makes noise? Lower or upper perch?

    Thanks in advance!!

I don't have this combo (yet) but I get the impression that Bilstien/Eibach on the upper perch is the most common setup with a 1in to 1.25in drop. On the lower perch you would be lowering your car ~2in, which is too low for most people.

I have been contemplating Bilsteins and in talking with Mario he mentioned that the Bilsteins were more "Bouncy" as compared to the OEM shocks.

I would think you would have clearance issues if you chose a lower perch setting along with the Eibach lowering springs.

I have read a few threads regarding "Clunking" noises with some Bilstein installs but I think it is more the exception and not the rule.

I am thinking that because your car is so nice you should seriously consider the KW V3 coilovers. You can adjust the ride height to your liking and they have soft spring rates for the street. They are quite a bit more expensive but I think for what you get it's a much better investment. This is the way I am leaning.

    Looks tons better.

I have Bilstein/Dali springs, for about five years now, similar drop, slightly stiffer spring. In any case I like it a lot over the OEM set-up. I am on the upper perch and while I think the lower perch might look great, I don't think it would be that streetable as you would be at about 2-1/8" lower than stock which is a lot on a car this low already. So it may depend on your roads, I live in Florida and the roads are generally pretty good but I don't think I could live with it too much lower...maybe 1.5" at the most for the street.

    No

I would say the bilsteins are firmer than stock.

My bilsteins on lower perch with stock springs squeak and clunk when they're cold. But the ride height looks great and it handles very well.
