SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE

A coworker from another department at work just gave me a 12"X12" silver/black Acura book on the NSX. He said he always wished he could buy one but instead bought the book and wished a lot. He subsequently got married, had kids, etc (LIFE) and never got to it. Seeing me owning one over the past 10 years may have convinced him that I enjoy the car. It's a keeper for me. I've read about this book on the forum and it seems it's a collectors' item.

What a great gift from an unrelated person. Sometimes Xmas comes early.... with no strings attached!

I have also recieved one of these books from someone. It was given to him as from a Acura salesperson before the car's launch. The Acura dealer in Palo Alto was trying to sell him the car. He never bought the car, but since I had an NSX, he thought I should have it.

It is a collector's item, since it was only given to first year owners or sold for $10 in the Acura dealers (I'm bought one for $10). Now I have one for the coffee table and one for collecting.

I think the average price on EBAY is $100.00

I was also given this book by a distant relative. I sold it on eBay because I already had one.

My neighbor in Santa Barbara gave me one as well. Nice gift. He also gave me a wooden NSX box. Don't really know what it's for.

When I picked up my 91 in January, the previous owner gave me all the prior service documentation, along with this NSX book. The book is really neat, with great pics and background info on the history, design, and manufacture of the car. The book he gave me was in excellent, almost new condition - like the car!!

The silver-black dealer sourced book (given by the actual Acura dealer to interested parties/clientele, as a marketing/promotion tool) generally goes for $35-$45 on eBay.

The black original owner's Acura sourced book (sent to new owner by Acura, as a gift) generally goes for $150+ on NSX Prime (up to $250 even, if mint/unused).

The former (silver-black book) is much more common to find & come across, whereas the latter (black book) is quite rare & rather difficult to come across. . .

In 2000, a friend let me test drive his '91 NSX, which convinced me to buy my '96. When he sold his '91 years later, he gave me his book. Its definitely one of my favorite keepsakes.

The wooden NSX box had the NSX Pen and Pencil set in it. I guess yours was empty?

I believe there are two types of wood boxes. one is black with
NSX typeface and held postcards, the other is a pen and pencil set with an NSX outline on it.
