    The Eagles' Assisted Living Tour

My boy and I saw the Eagles last night. Simply the best band in the world. Their performances are just like studio quality. Joe Walsh stole the show as they played many of his, and boy, what a vocalist!
Many new songs so they omitted a few great classics. Hotel California brought down the whole house. It is sentimental for me as it is the first live concert for me and great privilege to see them in their 60's. Don Henley particularly aged quite a bit but as good as ever. Just seeing him singing Desperado solo makes one wonder if future generations will have such honors to appreciate such masters at work. The current Rap-Crap and so called "rock bands" are childplay at best.

Amen Steve. Amen. I've seen Eagles in concert several times and each time I'm amazed at how good they still are. Their songs are absolute classics and their musicianship is stunning.

If you haven't seen them live... do it.

My wife and I saw them at Arco Arena on the 27th... we walked up to the box office and bought 3rd row dead center for face value... they played for 3+hours and were amazing.... this was our second time to see them and we were NOT disappointed.... we will go to see them EVERY time they come to Sacramento....Dave

Then we simply have different tastes in music and this is perfectly fine. I don't listen to that Rap-Crap garbage too. As far as Hotel California goes, I don't get enough of this all time great song. Seeing Don Henley delivering a flawless vocal performance while drumming prolifically was worth the entire ticket. I don't know any rocker who could do what Henley does. Every drummer else I have seen invariably missed a few notes if they could sing. Most bands are groups of one-instrument-players plus the lead singers. The Eagles are 4 terrific vocalists who play multiple instruments. All of them had their solo careers. Henley plays the keyboards, drums, percussions, guitars, and he writes and sings. Walsh is one of the best rock guitarists in the world and his vocals kick asses. Frey does what Henley does except the drums/percussions. Schmit is an awesome singer with unobtrusive but perfectly harmonizing bass guitar. In fact all 4 of them play many more instruments. When you see all 4 of them playing guitars next to each others, you would understand how special they are. Too bad, Don Felder no longer tours with the Eagles. One simply cannot find a more talented and professional rock band anywhere.

I like all kinds of music from all eras. Yes, I realize that the two songs I denoted are from different artists as I hear them played constantly. Where I play poker somebody plays these same two songs everynight and where I play pool the very same thing. I am sick to death of the two songs and would pay money never to hear them AGAIN.

Steve, I don't want to start anything, and I am on your side with performers of this genre, but most of the upper echelon bands are using pitch-correction software in the vocal mixes. It's really the only way to deliver studio quality vocals with the rigors of strenuous concert tour schedules.

    Even Streisand usus it.

What are you doing later? Dropping by a preschool to tell them Santa and the Easter Bunny aren't real?
I find that a duck's opinion of me is very much influenced by whether or not I have bread.

like craig said - that's cold, ken.
Success is not about where you live, but about how far you've come.
