    New Owner: 2000 GPW CTSC NSX-T

    While shopping for a used M3 or 997 911, I came across this 2000 GPW NSX with tan interior and it had roughly 33k miles. From the pictures and description, the car is in great condition and has all the mods I would do had the car was stock. It is a complete Comptech package car with a supercharger/brembo BBK and other goodies like coilovers, BBS LM wheels and others. It is perfect. Also, I love white cars as we all know that white is the fastest color out there :-)

    Well I just got my NSX delivered on friday. I purchased the car from Brian(SOURCENSX). Just took it out for a spin on saturday and got it smog checked, and it passed with flying colors. I used to have an E36 M3 and although the NSX and E36 has similar weight (3100 lbs), the NSX doesn't feel as "heavy" as the M3. With the low boost supercharger, the car has plenty power for me on the road and I certainly don't need more. The car goes into corners like it's on rails. The car came with a coilover suspension and it is so low that I managed to scrap almost every driveway or dips on the surface roads. I will have to raise it up an inch to make it a bit more driveable. The roads here around San Diego are pretty bad. Too many bumps and dips and the road surfaces are horrible.

    I think the tint is too dark for California law. I will have to remove it and installed very light tint on both windows to avoid being harassed by the cops. I will leave the rear window dark as is as I don't think it's illegal to have really dark tint on the back.

    The car does have some minor things that annoy me. First, it has a sorry of a cupholder. The cupholder is located slightly right behind the driver and it's hard to reach back to grab a cup or bottle. Second, the brake pedal and the clutch pedal are located too close to each other. I found myself step on the clutch when I wanted to brake a couple times. Third, the 6th gear are right next to the Reverse gear. Would it be possible to mistakenly shift from 5th gear to Reverse? Is there something built-in to prevent the "money" shift? Other than that, the car has exceeded my expectation. One more gripe although it's not Honda's fault: the brembo BBK has silver calipers instead of red or yellow. For a white car, red calipers would look great. The original owner wanted silver. Why silver calipers? :-)

    Congratulations on your new ride (Great choice and it looks like it was kept in amazing shape). Where in SD are you? Make sure you check out the So Cal section of this forum for upcoming drives. We actually have one coming up for 3/26 (http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146538).

    It is not possible for you to shift into Reverse when you are wanting to get 6th gear b/c the computer has an auto-lock to prevent this from happening when the car is driving forward.

    Very beautiful, mho once you raise the car an inch or so, you will be surprised of the before and after.

    I like it the way it is. I just worry that I will damage the underbody when I go over bumps. I looked under the car and there is some pipings/tubings at the rear wheel area that is hanging really low to the ground. I am afraid that I will damage those. Also, even though I have the lip spoiler at the front, will I damage the front bumper even if it is protected by the lip spoiler if I scrap the sploier? Thought?

    It really depends how badly youre scraping. If your going up, turing into, and out of driveways and it scrapes, then yea, could be acceptable, but if your just normally driving and bottoming out all the time, then perhaps its time to raise your car.

    when I am driving normally, then it doesn't bottom out. Only when I am turning into/out driveway or up/down dips, then the front lip scrap. Thanks.

    Attack driveways at a 45 degree angle and you shouldn't have a problem, back out the same way.

    It is all about the proper angle. I live in Indiana, where the potholes are 4 feet across and LITERALLY 8 inches deep or more, and I guarantee our roads suck more than yours in Southern California....and my '94 NSX sits about an inch and a half off of the ground in front. The solution is simple...just take extreme angles getting into and out of driveways and inclines and you will be fine 99% of the time. It just takes practice. My driveway at home I almost come into parallel to it and then turn sharply as soon as the tire starts to climb the incline. I can take pictures of a step by step if you want.

    Oh...and Grand Prix White is the fastest color. SourceNSX has been trying to buy mine for years. I am surprised he sold that one.
