    Thumbs up Supercharger with stock header?

    Hi guys,
    After talking with one of the forum member, I would like to know if anyone here has tried
    supercharger with a stock header on your NSX?
    I am considering GruppeM SC, Comptech SC and BBSC.
    Please describe the performance results.
    Since there are several arguments regarding the benefits of an aftermarket header. Is replacing the stock header with an aftermarket header can give much better result (+16-20 HP) on dyno?

    Should I invest the money straight to
    SC or should I buy the header first then add the SC?

    I already have GruppeM air filter and exhaust on my car.

    I believe Bryan Zublin is running a BBSC with stock headers. He was running stock everything until he got a Tubi cat-back.

    I'm running a CTSC high boost with stock headers, cats, and muffler. I'm looking to upgrade the headers next. I ran the 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds at 114mph. I've changed to short gears w/ stock ring and pinion also from stock rims and tires to bigger rims and tire and the best I was able to get to date was 12.7 @109mph. Also, every time that I've been to the track, the air was really hot and humid (98-100%). The time I ran the 12.3, the air was cool and moderate. Hope this helps.

    Many people I know replace the stock exhaust manifold, exhaust (cat back), intake, and chip and see how they like that before going with the supercharger.

    I would make sure the supercharger you want does not require a different airbox before buying that - many people simply get a K&N or like filter for slightly better airflow. Also the headers and the exhaust reportadly are very important to the higher temperatures and pressures associated with forced induction so that investment need not be wasted.

    Many of the turbo systems will require a new exhaust system so if that is something you will have to get anyway - you may want to wait and get it at that time.

    I assume you are addressing the earlier version NSX. 3.0L? I am running BBSC with factory headers, just installed cat by-passes so MB can better tune next time I encounter him, and factory muffler. I could not compare with or without since car is so much faster after SC install. Also I would only have a small gain over factory headers and I can't justify the price.
    I did catch one interesting thread where someone sought out the 97+ exhaust and got a cheap upgrade for their pre-97 car.
    Many people do upgrade their 97+'s and sell the factory headers and high flow cats cheap...

    With regards to the BBSC, the early "headers" aka manifold are the biggest bottleneck between all the bolt-ons.

    I can give one comparison that should be interesting.
    During my bbsc install there were many of us that did baseline pulls before the supercharger. My car was completely stock. there was another car completely stock except comptech exhaust. ON our baselines, he bettered me by about 5 rwhp.
    During the installl, I had comptech headers put on and retained cats+oem exhaust. the other car mentioned only added the blower, so he retained oem exhaust manifold.
    The dyno pulls after the install had me bettering him by 10-15 hp, can't remember exact numbers. We were running the same software. The net difference with headers looks to be about 15-20rwhp when supercharged. This number could be higher when coupled with an aftermarket exhaust, as I still have the oem exhaust.
