Doesn't relate to your question John, but as a point of discussion on the FI forum - the car referenced on E-Bay- 450HP from a CTSC? - yeah, right!!!!
From what do these people invent these numbers?
Hope you find your cover solution.
After getting my CTSC for my '00 Targa, I am disapointed with the top holder(/engine cover) that Comptech has provided me. After speaking with Shadd, this is the only option that they have available. He does remember a kit that they supplied early on that modified the stock holder, making the top fit with the SC. It was discountinued when dealer installations messed up one to many customers cars, ending up with a useless cut up stock holder. Does anyone have this modified holder on there car?(It would have been shortly after 95 up to?). I don't want to hack into my stock holder without knowing how this will turn out and if there are any fitment issues. I found this 98 on ebay and emailed the owner. He bought the car in 98 from a dealer(waiting for a call back from them) and said that he does indeed have the stock holder with the CTSC. The car is in storage, so he can't take a peek at it right now. Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Thanks in advance,
John

Which targa bar do you have? Does it look like the one you referred to on E-bay? The one shown on the e-bay car is the new design, or so I thought, and supposedly fits under the stock non-altered targa engine cover. I have the older red Comptech targa bar, which does not fit under the stock cover(it's now a wall decoration in my house!) and thought the change to the passengers side diagonal bar,as shown on the e-bay 98' made the difference in fitting under the cover.I don't think the age of the vehicle is relevent but the age of the SC kit.

I have the newer style bar like the one on the ebay car. His looks like the stock cover with the underlayment removed. It's the pulley on the SC that won't clear on mine.
Thanks,
John

John, why don't you pick up one of the used engine covers from the forum and experiment?
You know enough body people that surely someone could cut and fabricate in the manner that CT had some success (failures) with.
