MexiRicer's 97 MCB

As usual, just plain awesomeness coming from your direction. More pics please.

New wheels are tires mounted! Went with Dunlop Direzza star spec ZII, got the motivation from you ;)

Car looking good!

The new wheels really make your blue color pop more, if you ever need any interior parts to color match let us know.

Thank you sir!

Uh oh, I can't let a year go by without an update so here I am to share some stuffs! Also, I will need to find a new host for images, seems like most that I have posted are now gone :(

As noted in a few posts back, I sent a few interior pieces to the master that is cwood1388 (center console, a/c vent garnish, window trim pieces and pinch weld covers.)

Took a bit longer than anticipated due to previous owner really messing up the center console. I will let the pictures do the talking:

HUGE thank you to Louis AdvansCPAP for helping me navigate through this jungle of wiring and install my new audio set up. I ended up just doing a simple install with a pioneer deck and speakers, no amps. I was too traumatized by all the nonsense caused by the previous owner. I think I pulled out enough wiring to wrap around the world twice.

I need to get better interior pictures because cwood1388's work came out absolutely ridiculous. Our goal was to stick to OEM colors/ styling and I think we pulled it off very nicely.

very nice bro!

Thx G!! Not nice enough for JDMC feature yet tho :-(

Nice work! The finish on the console and door pieces looks amazing.

Thanks LeftCoast! I agree but these pictures don't do it justice. Chris did such a beautiful job, proper photos are in the works.

Nice looking work for sure! Never thought about painting the pinch weld covers if they get skuffed.

Hey thanks! Main reason I had them re-done was because previous owner had them covered in that disgusting hydro-dip stuff, also on the center console.

Glad you did away with the nauseating carbon fibre stuff, even the shifter boot is now at the right OEM/Zanardi height... much more pleasing to the eye.

Waiting for pics of the new wheel setup!

I am too! Since I never posted any pictures of my previous ce28 set up here are a few shots in the meantime

Agreed 100%

The hydro-dip is something I would only wish upon my worst enemy. Its horrendous stuff. The OEM Type S boot, shift stalk and knob make for my favorite combo. Thanks for the kind words!

Wow, looks great. just wondering how you drive it SOOOooo low? I would have lost my front lip in 15 mins with these roads around here.

Thank you Sir! I run a cup kit up front and also stick with OEM 97-01 front lip.

I actually raised it over the summer last year the night before an epic canyon run with the so cal group. Reason was because my buddy DreamPowered was in town from NY and wanted to catch a ride with me. Had never met him in person before so just in case he was an excessive taco indulger I raised it lol. Turns out just half an inch made worlds of improvement in ride quality and handling. Still looks awesome and very functional, I don't plan on lowering it back down.

Might have to raise it another inch.
Not bc of tacos, bcaa's and post workout shakes.
when are the new updates being unveiled ?

This car is fabulous! Love the color, the lowering, interior, all of the tasteful mods. Sometimes I can't help but wonder how much time, money and effort guys like you spend on your cars, but this one sure is a head-turner.

Anyone care to take a poll on what kind of wheels Mexi will go with next? :)

My guess is something from the old school selection (i.e. Regas, Mugen, or Technos)

I vote for some NA1 Type R wheels. The Enkeis if possible, the seven spokes would be cool too.

Thanks Jeffrey! Time that I will never get back and money that I won't ever recoup. All worth it to me when all said and done though. There is a tie for most tedious mods I have done and that is my air cup install and refreshing my interior with new console, double din etc. It is nice to scroll back through these pages from time to time and see how far the build has come. Thanks for reminding me of that!

+1 for Robert

I love rice too.

I love Spanish rice, you love sticky white rice :)

I already made up my mind, back to basics :D

Would be pretty sweet but 15/16 will not clear Na2 stock brakes. Besides, you are the na1-r wheel king :)

I love all kinds of rice!

Looks good with the seven spoke wheels.

And they did make the 16/17-inch seven spoke NA1 Type R wheels :biggrin:

Yes I can tell you do by all the mods on your car! Lol.

Eh nothing too special about 16/17 Type R wheels, can basically achieve the same look by powder-coating the stocks white lol. Your 15/16 R wheels are sick though. Keep em :)

Hey, I love some spicy yellow rice too!

I wonder if real 16/17 NA1 Type R wheels are lighter than the OEM seven spoke wheels.

I need to find me another set that are pristine so I can have some fancy bling to couple my not so shiny shoes, lol.
(random thought, there was a set of four 15" or 16" NA1 Type R wheels on eBay for the longest time, I thought of getting them so my Civic could match, haha)
