Booyah! Should have had the '88-91 Prelude (aka "Baby NSX") on there, too.

So have pop-ups been legislated out of existence here in the US or are they just out of style?

    aaaaaah HA!

"NSX was the every day supercar"

    CASE CLOSED!

That was a great article; I had no clue that the popups were actually a victim of safety regs. I honestly thought it was just styling trends

"and the pop-ups look classier and more reserved than the gaudy, bulbous built-in ones that came later."

Can't be stated any better than this.

I have always loved the NSX popup lights. Apparently I'm not alone.

Gdae, I think that pop ups were devised to give cars a distinctive look, back in the days of sealed beam headlights when all headlights were round (or square). Pop ups allowed the lights to be hidden away. When replaceable bulbs were made legal, designers were given much more freedom to be unique.

The OP link is live again:

When replying, the link seems to get shortened. To get the complete link, delete the three dots and insert "pop-" in their place, without the apostrophes.
