What's up everyone,

I just purchased my 1992 NSX a few months ago, and I figured I would go ahead and start a build thread and show what all I have done to the car so far. I know it will be a long time before I finish everything for the final detail write up. I still have a lot of work left to do and the weather is too cold outside right now to do anything to the car.

The way the car sits in the pictures is the way that I purchased the car. This will be a slow build, but you gotta start somewhere.

We will start off with getting the car up to par.

With this car being 20 years old, there are a few "typical" things that have to be replaced every 20 or so years lol.

I drove the car down to Murfreesboro TN while I was on a detail trip and had my good friend Kris P. (AutoxDC2). and TurboDave take the car and give it a good thorough inspection, put it up on the lift, check the suspension, frame, motor... ect. While they had the car, I informed them about a couple of small electrical issues that I was having.

So they had my car for a good week ordering all the OEM Honda replacement parts and getting everything taken apart and put back together.

The new OEM parts that were replaced:

Driver Rear hub bearing
Driver Inner & Outer Tie Rods
Passenger Inner & Outer Tie Rods
New Brakes and Rotors All 4 Corners
New Rubber up front
+ Alignment done by the Best in the Biz (RX7Vinnie of Vin-Auto)

New OEM Oil pressure Gauge + Oil pressure sending unit
New OEM Vehicle Speed Sensor

I think that is all....

here are a few pics from that week.(Sorry for the Crappy Cell phone pics)

A big thanks to Kris P. and TurboDave & Crew for fully going through my car inside and out an making sure all harnesses were good and everything was up to par while I was busy working.

They had all panels, seats, carpet.... everything removed, checking for little wiring grimlins.

Current list of Mods from previous owner:

Injen Intake
Remus Exhaust
Type R CF replica rear wing
(Lame!) 17/18" Liquid Metal wheels (soon to be replaced)

After that, I finally had a chance to work some of my magic on it.

Here are a few pics from before the paint correction.

That's all I have for you right now.

Next thing I will be doing is Removing all the wheels and acid washing and degreasing all of the Aluminum Suspension parts and Polishing out all the Glass to remove the Acid rain etching.

wow nice progress. Its great to see that paint recover so well. Black is the best color.... when its clean and swirl free!

Excellent restoration!

I admire your work. I periodically browse through Autopia and I see a lot of previous jobs there. Good job and welcome to the community!

Thanks everyone for all the positive remarks, I definitely LOVE this car and have lots in store for it. It was always a dream to own an NSX and with lots of hard work, I finally made it happen.

Thanks Phantom, I love Autopia, that place is responsible for where I'm at today with my business. I would love to post in the paint and detailing section, but I didn't want it to be considered "SPAM". I have plenty of detail write ups to post up. but i would have to make sure the mods wouldn't mind first.

How do you get the acid etching out of the window?

I'll have to post that write up soon. maybe next week.

Nice job, Eric. Hit me up next time you plan on being down this way and we'll hook up. BTW, Cooperider's got me using the Megs Microfiber Correction System now---

Yeah, it was good meeting you this past summer at IA. Cooperider is the man, he's a good friend of mine. That Microfiber DA system is great. I use it all the time, except for the D301 finishing wax, that stuff isn't worth much for durability. I'll have to give you a call next time i'm down. I still need to get Barney to do the timing belt overhaul deal. just gotta save up for it. :D

Eric, it looks like you are a "tru" master of your craft. Just woundering why your nsx isnt on the portfolio page of your site?

It's not really in "Show off" condition just yet, I still have a lot left to do before the final write up is complete.

Shame on the previous owner, that swirl disaster was in need of help previously.

lol, yeah, unfortunately most cars you put under the sunlight or halogens are going to look like that. unless they have an extra good owner. :D

I'm just here to update Eric's build thread ;)

My name is Mike and I own Track. One Motor Sports out of Franklin, TN. I recently hired a NSX specialist from Maryland who started here at the beginning of the month. Eric brought us his NSX last week to have us do a timing belt, water pump, many seals and gaskets, and the Science of Speed LMA's. Here are a few pictures!

He ended up needing a new cam position sensor as well since they melted down. New one will be in tomorrow so Dan can wrap it up!
