St. Louis area ownership

Got the car to start, idle, and the brake pedal has no effect other than lighting the brake lights, but the car will run for 5 min or so then out of the blue it just dies. So I am back to thinking it is the main relay and after it is in use it gets hot and gives up, but who knows. Joe is bringing the main relay from Pat by the shop tonight to see if that is the issue. If that is not it I am at a loss to figure this one out.

Dave

Have you gone through his Methanol Kit wiring? He said the problem started after he did that.

Problem appears to be solved, it was either the ignition switch that we cleaned or the Main relay that we resoldered, or some other ground that we redone in order to solve the issue. What ever it was the problem is gone as fast as it came. I wish I had a more definative answer to this one but I do not. The Meth kit and gauges were wired but not connected to the car other than pump power. So we can rule out the new wires, after the problem was solved the final connection to the AEM serial gauge, AEM Meth kit and AEM Failsafe Gauge was made. We are ready to tune as soon as I get time and an open dyno.

Wow, strange. Glad you guys got it worked out! Any idea when you'll get it on the dyno?

Maybe this Sunday, not sure if the dyno will be open, this time of year everyone is getting their toys worked on and tuned and I have to slot Joe in with the other waiting customers. The good news is the runs will not take long as we only need to touch up the WOT and tune for Meth.

The AEM water meth Failsafe is a cool little device, its is good to see what the actual flow rate for the meth is instead of just guessing with the little dials on the controller. Lots to wire but you may want to take a look at it for your setup.

You beat that trans out yet?

Yeah, Once things get settled down I'll probably add the failsafe too.

I can't start on the clutch until saturday morning. I hope to get it done this weekend. Then, I'll be ready to push this little motor.

You get it figured out and I will trade you tune time on the dyno for helping me with mine. I think I have the clutch figured out but I have only watched it being done and never done one myself on an NSX.

Sounds like a plan!

I live in Tampa and yesterday I was visiting St. Louis for business and spotted a Black/Black NSX in a parking lot off Olive Rd. The car had an open engine bay. Just wondering if it belonged to someone on the forum?? Jerry

Any must sees in St Louis, I proably taking aa government issued van there for a week or so, not the NSX, but curious none the less.

Depends on what you like . Ride to the top af the Arch (nothing quite like it anywhere), Fri/Sat night life at Lacledes Landing, gambling at River City Casino, gentlemens clubs across the river, Omnimax theater at the Science Center - depends???

I like Lumiere Casino, next to the Arch. Great food...

Thanks I'll keep some of the stuff in mind, not sure the top level people are gona be down for gentlemens clubs thou.

How far is the stuff from Scott AFB?

If I remember correctly, SAFB is about 20 to 25 miles east of downtown St. Louis (Lumiere Casino, Lacledes Landing, Arch). 3 more miles west of downtown is Forest Park and the Science Center. You'll have to pass all those gentlemens clubs before you get to downtown though (prettiest girls north of Dallas).

Have to include Wine Country out HWY 94 South to Augusta, Washington and Herman MO, much better in an NSX than a Gov't van. Garavelli's cafeteria at Watson and Chippewa (near Ted Drewes) on Fridays for their Boston Scrod, Rigazzi's on the Hill for the Parmigiano sandwich, the Missouri Baking Company on the Hill for it's cherry Streudel only on Saturdays, and it's best to place an order so you can experience it, the Botanical Garden, one of the best in the country, the Zoo and Science center, Lewis and Clark memorial and the Alton Locks on the east side. The L&C museum and the Foundry in St.Charles as well as the downtown itself and the numerous restaurants and shops.

St. Louis is a unique town. On the interstates, most everything is 1/2 hour from everything else. Scott is about 40 minutes from Lambert Airport and 25 minutes from the city of St. Louis. Furthest would be wine country from Scott, about 2-3 hours out and the same back. Would be glad to send you a map with everything marked if you wish.

Education process Saturday 6-16. Took the girl and my wife out to pick up my Father's day gift at Greenscape at Barrett Station and Doherty Ferry, an orange Hibiscus. (try getting one of these along with the clay pot into the front seat with your wife, barely). None of the kids working at the nursery knew what it was, education time. Then......................

On the way back, between Olive and Ladue in the 12:30-1 time frame, Southbound was a black and red, both of us moving too fast to ck the wheels, with the raised black spoiler. Didn't recognize the car. With the exception of our get togethers, and the Mungenast upper service garage in the fall, 2 in one place is a real oddity in St. Louis. Also not one at the Baptist Church car show on Howdershell near 270, and only 1 Ferrari. How are today's kids going to know what an NSX is? To quote Tony Robbins I think, "if it has to be it's up to me", and all of us.

Anyone want to own up to being out cruising or exercising as well. I normally do my Trader Joe's, banking and post office runs in the NSX. Any old chance to get her out.

Regards,
Don
