nsxprime has always been red to me. lud chose a red nsx for the forum image up top as well as our vbulletin color bars. prime has been a place to help us all out from everything to in-depth technical know-how, to sheer off-topic madness...but the spirit of the forum, i've felt, is a reflection of the ultimate joy of owning and driving the NSX. a spirit that is captured by many of ayrton senna's expressed sentiments regarding his passion...racing, and his life. the NSX was an expression of this said passion...and prime is simply an extension of this exact passion...as this legacy of the NSX carries on.

I never have been one to have a lot of stuff on the front of a T-shirt. I Like the Small NSXprime stuff (vf2ss)with the Cartoon rear of the car on the back.

I really like the the whole T-shirt (vf2ss) but not in red.... Hard to wear a red t-shirt from pit road at some autosport functions.

Technically that font would be an infringment since Honda/Acura own the rights to the NSX font.

Oh really? Anyone ever look at Honda/Acura's own posters for the NSX? THEY don't use the right font!

Its not the font anyway - its the logo, and after doing a quick search there is no evidence anywhere that Acura (that would be USA) has ever filed or printed anything with a little ® next to it. Likely is in Japan, but in the US? Its probably done, but not obviously.

I did find this though "NSX® and NSX BLADE® are registered trademarks of National Stock Exchange, Inc.". Sorry Honda, you guys may want to chat.

Seeing as how we are the ones carrying this brand, I say use it until they say stop.

My vote? Do more than one design. Either that or use vf2ss because that is just cool.

I'm really digging the simplicity of this design. Maybe even couple it with the ass end pictures on the back of the t-shirt with nsxprime.com on the shoulder blade?

That is a brilliant design. I love it. My concern would be the practicality and accuracy of the very fine/small lettering being transferred on the shirt and how long the letters would last after x number of washes. I had a shirt from high school that had the graduating classes's signatures, so the lines were quite fine. Everyone's shirts had faded lines after several watches by the time we graduated. I only washed mine 2 times so mine was still preserved

My challenge to you would be how can you take this design and tweak it so that it could be more sustainable. My sense is that the number of quotes would shrink and letters be enlarged. It looks fantastic the way it is now though, so enlarged letters may take that effect away. Color is just small detail tho, it can easily be changed.

I also support multiple winner/designs. I say 2-3 designs.

N Spec makes an excellent point, and while I think vf2ss's design is brilliant, I'm afraid the public at large won't get it because 1) they won't know what an NSX is (as there is no image of one in the design), and 2) they aren't going to bother reading that much writing on the back of a t-shirt. Great if you're going to a Honda/NSX meet, but otherwise pretty much wasted on those around you.

I think nicholas421's design is more versatile and would be better received by the public because 1) it visually depicts what NSXs look like, and 2) the text directs you to NSX Prime (which is the primary goal of this contest). Simple and straight to the point.

That is exactly why I support multiple designs. vf2ss's design is like the "NSX-R" of shirts for enthusiast here on Prime so we can geek out on the finer details of NSX mythology. However there must be another design that would appeal more to the visual sensory as well. I wouldn't mind more than one NSXPrime shirt.

My take on all this: an esoteric auto should get an esoteric visage.

My only input (from afar) to vf2ss would be if the signature side-intake of the NSX could be sublimated into the passage of the quotes that depict the NSX silhouette. Just a sloping/diagonal line effect for 3-4 of the lines where the intake is generally visible from the side profile.

With that said, in some shape/form I'm likely gonna repro' vf2ss design (w/ their permission) & make two of these T's (one for moi, one for them).

Who cares that it's not in-your-face NSX? The website URL's there, the shape's there, and the Senna quotes are just awesome. Perfect.

Well, I care, for one. I can't appreciate the back of my own t-shirt when I'm wearing it, so to me vf2ss's design is more appropriate for something like wall art. But as N Spec said, I wouldn't mind if there is more than one NSXPrime t-shirt. However if there can only be one, I would personally vote for nicholas421's design (of the ones I've seen so far). That's not to invalidate your or anyone else's opinion, it's just my own opinion and I'm stating it for the record in case Lud's interested in taking user input.
