Question Tire size compatible with TCS?

I am looking for some tires to give me a decent stretch on some 18x8.5 and 19x9.5 wheels. I was thinking of 205/35/18 and 225/35/19.

Will this cause problems with the TCS?

The TCS is calibrated depending on the year of the NSX, which you don't state.

You can think about 205/35-18 all you want, but that won't change the number of tires sold in that size at the Tire Rack: zero.

It's a really really really BAD IDEA to mount tires onto wheels that are wider than what's approved by the tire manufacturer. Stress and heat build up in the sidewalls, and this commonly leads to tire failure. Most 225/35-19 tires are not approved for mounting on 19x9.5 wheels.

On an NSX with 18"/19" wheels, stick with 215/35-18 and either 265/30-19 or 275/30-19 rears.

I have a 92. I think Toyo is the only one I found that makes 205/35/18. I think I will go with a 215/35/18 as you suggested.

I want the stretch in the front and rear to be about the same. To achieve this it seems like I would need a 235/35/19 or 245/30/19 since the actual wheel width is 241.3mm on a 9.5 inch wheel. Would any of those work?

No. The handling will not be good with the 235/35-19, and the TCS won't operate properly with 215/35-18 and 245/30-19. On a '92, stick with 275/30-19 for the rears.

Based on the information in his posts, it doesn't appear that handling is a priority for him.

I am familiar with the concept, in which you use tires that are too narrow for the wheels, so that they have a good chance of blowing out. NOT a good idea. Stick with 275/30-19. You'll impress a lot more people with the extra width than you will with the unsafe stretch.

So you're saying girth is more impressive than stretch?
