NSX Recovery / Track Addiction - It's back yet again Prime!

I have been wanting to do this for 5 years now. The time has finally come. Progress will be updated as often as possible. The goal is to be testing / tuning by the summer and racing by 2015.

This is Source1's old widebody car.

The chassis sitting before we loaded it for home. Engine / Trans was installed by Source1 for transport

Retrieving the chassis from OHIO after a grueling 32 hour drive through some of the WORST weather winter has to offer, AND BACK. Total time there and back was 3.5 days INCLUDING reassembling the chassis for transport.

The missing body panels are being drop shipped due to size. All of the missing components are in the truck OR in the car.

The car has no glass so we had to seal it knowing the weather would be rainy / windy / snowy and we didn't want to expose the bare chassis to the elements without being sealed first. So we improvised with a combination of Industrial saran wrap used to wrap pallets, 2 rolls of packing tape and 2 rolls of Gorilla tape.

This survived the downpour on Saturday / Sunday on the east coast AS WELL as the 50+ mph winds in combination with the air pressure generated from being towed at 70mph.

It was COLD! The tape froze and started to disintegrate and the car collected ice all the way home.

Bought some of my trusty anti-spray paint chemical from Home Depot...

And ended up with this after a few touch ups with some sebring silver... Not show worthy but not black!

Also test fitted the hatch... mainly just to get it off the floor :) it clearly is just laying there but you get the idea!

As of this morning...

Many more pictures to come.

Refreshed the bearings and installed a new crank that was in spec.

Thanks to SOS, Jim Coz, and Source1 for helping!

Added KW v3 suspension, SoS sways, And my SoS ITB's will be on shortly with AEM and ID controlling the air / fuel mixture!

Still alot of work to do before its Performance Touring ready, but soon!

Hey its a win win for everyone now right Brian?

Still a few things to go, but I thought it was time for an update now that i've driven it officially 4.5 miles since its been running :)

Pictures of the stripped interior???

I'll add more pictures of the interior as I finish cleaning it up / building custom center consoles etc (aka when there is something to look at).

Yup, has been quite the adventure involving help from Science of Speed, Coz Motorsports, and Source1.

Last major hurdle will be to get its title cleaned up over here in AZ (they are a pain in the ass here).

The aero package has been started and will probably be the next update!

Ravi,
on you 12/30/2013 New Race Hatch photo, where did you buy the window frame? Is it complete? I have a poly hatch and needs a frame like that. I want to keep my old window complete as a spare.

I purchased the hatch from Science of Speed and they sometimes have 'core' frames available for sale which is the route I went. I did this for the fact that I didn't have an aluminum ring with this car when I bought it.

I would contact Chris @ Science of Speed to see if he can help you with either as I tried to locate a used one for a while but that was a fruitless search as you can imagine.

That is the product I used.

Excellent fitment, and easy installation (I drilled ALL THE HOLES, however they do sell them pre-assembled I believe at a small additional fee for the 6+ hours of setup time).

Ravi. If you still need front turn signals let me know. I have a beatup set you can have.

YES! I do, I was going to borrow COZ's good spare set but he'd need them back so if you have a set I can buy that'd be great as its the last fascia piece I will need!!

More to come brian! The aero stuff started to arrive, and I got the rear bumper spats on too.

Car is taken apart again after the shake down, tweaking some things, making more adjustments, and adding the ITB's.

congrats no doubt the wheels had something to do with it....

Well we found out the engine is hurting really badly (only did 191whp) so I have to replace the pistons and rings and will end up going 90.5mm. Should have done rings when I saw that fuel had washed the bearings (overfueled at some point).

So installing Wiseco's in it and putting the ITB's on so should be sitting pretty after that.

But it was fun to get 2nd place with a engine that badly hurt on our first competition lol. Silver Lining.

Update:
Vehicle weighs 2550lbs... (loaded).

Still more weight to shed.

Goal is 282whp for the next season.

Yes this car has been around the community quite a bit. Brian from Source 1 was the last owner of 'sabine'.

I will be the last owner and she will be a ST3 killer.
