Acura Integra DC2 C30A Mid Mount Build - MOTOR IN!

Hey Guys,

My name is Adam, from New Zealand and run a Honda Performance Parts shop here.

Sorry, I know this isn't strictly a NSX build, but figured that seeing as it was a NSX powered build it may be ok ;)

For a long time I wanted to do a F20C Fr, RWD build but stumbled across a manual C30A package and decided mid mount was the way to go.

I am more or less a complete noob when it comes to C series so aside from oil pump upgrade baffle sump, headers and sos individual throttle bodies, I don't have any other mods planned at this stage. Just want to get the thing in and running for stage 1.

Any suggestions and/or questions are welcome!

Parts needed - I need rear upper and lower control A arms - anyone have any?!?!

There is a full write up of progress so far here - Speed Science NSX Powered ITR

You are ambitious. I was listening to CarCast with Adam Carolla and they were talking about engine swaps and other complex builds and I gotta say something like this would be an 11 on a 1 to 10 scale of difficulty. Good luck with the project.

Yeah, a little rough chopping up such a nice car, but was the straightest, tidiest car I could find and better resale on parts of ITR gear, shell ended up costing me nothing.

Yeah, not an easy build. My business is purely retail, not in fab, so a good friend of mine doing all the "hard" work. Wiring and other general mechanical bits will be my job.

Aiming for completion early next year, funds permitting!

Motor and subframe mocked up in place to ensure enough cutting as taken place ;)

Now time to start on chassis rail fabrication and strengthening so the subframe can be mounted in place!

I saw an NSX motor put into an integra before but mounted into the back of the car. I never saw that. Way to think outside of the box.

Some better pics of progress!

Now I have the front engine mount, the engine can be setup perfectly on the subframe and that can be set in the exact correct place. The plan for how to make the rear chassis, and the materials are all sorted so things should progress fairly quickly from this point.

Here are some pics of stuff

The brace is setup in the back for lifting the car up - this way the car is dead straight - sitting on the axle stands relies on the floor being perfect. Can't afford any sideways twist in the chassis when mounting everything.

Lots of wiring to do later
