    Exhaust tip fun

I saw one of those old, hunk of junk, Italian sports cars with the dual exhaust tips shooting almost straight up and that's what got me inspired...
May look cool on NSX stock diffuser if done right .

I recently happened upon a certain shorty muffler for motorcycles on ebay and dig how they look.

The steel fabric weave with the flat back slash cut end...cool contrast. I bought two plus a pair of corvette dual exhaust tips .

I like my CT gen 2 exhaust and the tips are just fine but the vision of duals has stuck with me.

As I sat in the garage starring at the beautiful thing (NSX) , I tried to talk myself out of it but then, I just got down there and took the dam pipe off lol. Not hard but just a PITA.. but I've had plenty of practice with previous cars that had turbo lol. Took it over to a good friend that has nicely equipped machine shop and cut original tips off. It will take a bit of thinking to achieve desired look and angle

Now I'm committed to doing it so I will post the finished product if anyone may be interested.

I know it borders on rice and in the end, angle won't be so extreme but flame suit on lol.

The true highlight of the day was to be able to rig a suitable mock-up fixture so simply (see pics), I could then view how it may look immediately and experiment with angles.

The last picture is using photoshop to remove mockup fixture and clone the existing side for a good look at the potencial back view before it actually exists.

Anyhow, It was a fun day.

Wasn't really feeling it until the final picture with both sides installed. Doesn't look bad at all. Don't melt your bumper cover though.

To be honest, that's not far away from the old RM Racing quad tip exhaust .. minus the chubby parts. Are those pieces supposed to replace the mufflers?

Heavens no . If fact I'm anticipating what it may sound like. Maybe to quiet as chub silencers have ther own baffle as well. But maybe nice with higher pitch.

I modeled mine off the ARC Titanium but the single tip exhaust. I really like the aggressive angle.

nothing wrong astheticly with angled tips...just be mindful that they collect more water, thus first start up after rain or wash can be a belching mess.

    We work fast

I sent a few pictures to the guy that makes these little goodies and he liked what he saw and sent me 4 units unfinished.

The angle that was originally planned would have been to much time , trouble and overkill.. and after seeing Hapa and Mugen Kid's set ups , which look just right.

We were able to gut the baffle out of the mini silencers without damaging unit.

    really not all that heavy.

Not welded on yet, we will explore the possiblity of slip on ( if my welding buddy is not sick of me at this point)

nice on trying something dif!. i just dont think the flex pipe looks good exposed like that as an exh tip. maybe a quad titanium might look better.

    Perhaps,

Most would not recognize it as flex and nothing I've seen mimics the texture produced .

It has a raw quality to it and I guess thats the attraction for me.

Your project is coming along quite nice however .

I don't like how the tips extend pass the bumper.
Make them line up flush and it might look better. Keeping like it is, you might need to put a red flag on them. Haha

See chops above.... shortened and slash not as severe.

If I go to far under diffuser and flush it with bumper, defeats the purpose.

see..I want it to look like it's guts are hanging out slightly lol.

    once again, with Rotobox CF.
