Happy New Year NSXCA Members!

As we begin 2015, we would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to Larry Bastanza (“Larry B”) for his many years of service to the NSX Club of America as our President. Although he will remain an active club member, owner and zen master tech, Larry has stepped aside and his big shoes (yes, we realize Larry is not known to be described in such terms as “big” but the shoes he is leaving behind are huge) are now being worn by Brian Urlage (Source 1 for those who may not recognize him by his full name). We welcome Brian as our new fearless leader and look forward to an exciting year which will include, finally, the release of NSX 2.0.

We also welcome new regional representatives Wes Spryshak in the Midwest (who will be taking over Brian’s regional position) and Terry Brown in the South Central region. The Board is looking forward to their energy and passion in assisting with coordinating regional activities.

The NSXCA is still looking for a member to step up and assume the position of Treasurer, a job that had been handled by one of the greatest mathletes of all time – Donald “The Don” Lebentritt, for the past six years. As with Larry, Don will continue to be an active club member, NSX owner and enthusiast and we thank him for his many years of selfless service to the Club. Please contact the Club Secretary, Bob Ondrovic (RSO 34 on Prime) at RSO34 at nsxca dot org if you are willing to become part of the Board of Directors as Treasurer.

Finally, we are all looking forward to NSXPO 2015 in Palm Springs this October. As we finalize the hotel and track contracts, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge Carla Lebentritt for her stepping up for the last several NSXPOs to become our “den mother” in organizing this annual event. A monumental task that is undertaken each year by volunteers who often go unsung, Carla has been instrumental in making sure those of us who would otherwise lose focus by the shiny NSXs around us stay on track (no pun intended) and keep the event planning organized from start to finish. And when we say “start to finish”, this does not involve just the week of NSXPO – this has been a year+ planning for EACH of the NSXPOs. Boys will be boys when it comes to cars as their toys, but Carla somehow managed to make everyone around her remain focused on the tasks at hand and put on one incredible event after another. And while she is stepping back from her NSXPO advisory position, those in the Northeast will still be able to benefit from her skills and passion for the NSX Club in her role as Northeast rep. Thank you Poohkie!

Once again, best wishes for a healthy, happy and NSXcellent 2015!

Just wondering when the next issue of Driver is due out. I think I have only received one recently (Expo issue I believe).
