So I attempted to see what kind of interest there was last year for a drive to Jasper/Banff and I was not successful. This year there is a small group of cars venturing out from Cold Lake, AB starting Friday May 29th where we will drive to Jasper for an overnight and then proceed to Banff on the Saturday May 30th. We expect to head back to the Edmonton area on the Sunday with stops in Cochrane and Sylvan Lake. Just wondering if any of the guys from Edmonton would like to join along or if the Calgary owners would like to make a day out of it and meet up at one of the locations on the route. I spoke with Mr.fuji(Sean) and he showed some interest. Even just to meet up with the group would be interesting at any of the locations. Our group should consist of an NSX,GTR,Viper,Elise,F355,2 corvettes and a Mustang.
Regards,
Travis

So your plan is:
1. Fri 5/29- Cold Lake to Jasper
2. Sat 5/30- Jasper to Banff
3. Sun 5/31- Banff to YEG via Cochrane & Sylvan

I'm definitely interested in leg 2, and some of 3.

I drove hywy 93 from Banff to Jasper last summer in the NSX. I will warn you it is in terrible shape. It is managed by the Feds and pot holes are everywhere. I would recommend another route. Yes in places it is that bad. It won't be any better in May.

I drove from rocky mountain house to Banff to the skyway and it was manageable. My car is also low. This was mid June last year. Have the roads depleted that much since then Warren. Thanks for the heads up

Maybe, if I still don't get hired by a helicopter company.

Just want to let people know that are interested in meeting up my group is still moving forward with these dates. We have hotels booked in Banff and Jasper. A couple of people are still unsure from my group if they will make it but there are 3 of us 100 percent committed with 4 others at 95 percent.

I should have work plans confirmed this week.
Then I think It's time to invest in a radar detector- Hwy 2 is packed with RCMP, Sherrifs, and other assorted Peace Officers.

This trip was a success thanks Sean,Tony, and Will for coming out I'll post a link to photos in the next couple of days in here. Warren the roads were fine except for a a manhole that was heaved in the middle of nowhere. They are currently resurfacing the highway by Lake Louise.

Roadtrip Photos Banff/Jasper Canada

So a few months ago a few of us decided it would be a good idea to arrange a drive to the mountains consisting of members of a local car group I organize from Cold Lake,AB Canada. Prebooked rooms 3 months in advance and 4 vehicles headed out of Cold Lake Friday May 29 morning(should have been a few more but work schedules got in the way). My tape deck piled up an hour into the trip and would not allow me to even listen to the cd changer or radio(I was using an adapter for music on my phone) So that sucked but no matter onto Spruce Grove where we met up with another NSX owner and onto Jasper. We headed into Banff the late afternoon of the 30th and the following day met up with 2 more NSX owners on the Sunday. Everything went smoothly as we dodged storms and got sunburned with only 2 small rain squalls getting our cars dirty. Friday night involved a midnight detailing session in the hotel parking lot using garbage cans and hot water haha. Disclaimer Jasper only has one car wash and it is open from 12 to 5. It was great to put 1900kms on my NSX and I plan to do this again before the summer is out. Majority of the photos were under harsh lighting conditions but I made due. Hopefully people enjoy the photoset. Prime members involved with this drive were LeongBoy, Cwillgo, and Mr.Fuji

Agreed Travis, this was an excellent trip. I've live in Alberta my whole life and have never seen Jasper, including all the stops we made on the way to Banff... so thanks for introducing me to these awesome places!

I enjoyed meeting some of the people from up North; they are nice folks even though they drive 'vettes.

I've spoken on another thread how fun these few days were, but I need to compliment ou on your photography.

Yes, we had to wait a little extra time at every stop for you to get the "right shot", but I can see now the results are worth it, great job!

Great pics!!! Thanks for posting...looks like a good time.

Thanks for the kind words. These photos are ok but not at the time of day I usually enjoy capturing photos. Let's do it again sometime soon. Maybe just a run from Calgary to Banff and then back through Canmore/Cochrane. Thanks
