Hi all,

I need an opinion on if I should have my engine rebuilt prior to adding a CTSC (low boost).

My car is a 1996 and it has 104k miles. I've had regular maintenance done at my local Acura dealer ever since I've owned it (bought used).

Before I had the CTSC installed I decided to have the compression and a leak down test performed.

Results:
Compression 190 for cyl 1 and 210 for all others
Leak down at 32% for cyl 1 and 22% for all others

Thoughts?

Do a compression test first. If all good, slap that baby on there. Wait, just seen your results. Cylinder 1 looks a lil iffy.

Iffy enough to rebuild first? I've had two differing opinions from two different dealers. One says go for it the other says to rebuild. [emoji2]

Question is: how much money would you save by rebuilding now versus later? If it's not such a big difference the you can see how it goes. It might last a long time. Gives you some time to think about what kind of rebuild you want to do down the road.
