I just recently picked up my first NSX and it seems to be in fantastic condition but I would like to have it gone through by someone or a shop that specializes in these cars just to make sure everything is in good condition. Is there anyone in Tennessee that i can take it to and have this done? Thanks for the help guys.

Barney Demonbreun, who owns/runs/wrenches as Ashland Motorsports, is an NSX expert, exactly what you need. He's just outside Nashville, and his contact information is on his website at ashlandmotorsports.com.

It seems Barney is not in the business anymore. A guy named Chris took over. Does anyone know what kind of work he does?

Brian Brown at Harper Acura in Knoxville works on the several NSX's in town and it is a certified dealer. He put a Comptech SC on Yoshi's black 91' and did a great job.

Where are you in TN? Eifels Place in the Atlanta area did the TB/Water pump service on my car just before I bought it and was highly recommended by many owners.

Just went down to Chris's shop on Sunday, i'm going to let him do timing belt and water pump. I will let you know how it goes. I understand that he is the person that has been doing the work on nsx for the last 3 years out of this shop.

Yes Chris handles the shop. However, if there is something that Chris needs Barney helps him. Barney has been training him on NSXs for quite some time. You wont have to worry about anything.

Hello, I'm considering relocating to the Knoxville area and just want to confirm with NSX owners in the area that the Tech at Harper Acura ( Brian Brown) is well thought of. Are there any independent shops worth considering as well? Looking forward to getting to know the area better and especially driving the scenic roads in the area. Thank you for any input and advice.

John K aka KnoxVegas is in the Knoxville area. You might PM him and ask... I'm not sure where (or if) he has had his car worked on locally.

Knoxville is a great place to live if you want proximity to awesome roads. Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, etc are all very close.

I have yet to go to Brian at Harper, though I keep meaning to call ahead and go in to introduce myself. I do most of my own work, but I had Source1 outside Cincinnati do the last major service. I am not due for a major service for a while, though I have an oil change coming up that I may see Brian for and to give Harper a try.

As far as other local shops, I have a great detailer (Knox Details) and alignment/general help (Keisler Automation). Feel free to shoot me a pm any time!

I've been in the area since mid-2009 and I could not love it any more. Knoxville has been very good to me.

Rob is right. The proximity to a multitude of mountain parks and roads is wonderful. Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway/Moonshiner 28/Foothills Parkway/Etc. are all a little more than an hour away. US 421 (The Snake) and the Devils Triangle aren't that far either. You can drive great roads all over the place.

I unfortunately work away from home, but I get back to town every other weekend or so. When you get here, let me know. I'm always glad to make more NSX friends, especially local ones. What is bringing you to Knoxville?

Thanks for the information KnoxVegas. I already have family in the Farragut area, as well as Georgia so relocating seemed a natural thing to do. The house we are strongly considering is in the Concord area of Knoxville, I will post updates on my move in the coming weeks. Thanks again for the dealer and great road information.

It's amazing how small the world really is. My wife and I live in the Northshore/Concord area! It's a great place to live. Very quiet, and its nice being near the lake. Plus all the new stuff being added nearby (Publix, Target, restaurants), we have less and less need to head into the vacuum of Turkey Creek.

Good luck on the move!

Thanks KnoxVegas. I agree we really like the area and the amenities. I have another request, the house we are buying doesn't have enough garage space so I will be having to build a large garage. In the meantime I will need a safe place for inside storage for up to eight cars, is there a such a place in the area you can recommend? Most of the places I've seen advertised on line seem to cater to RV's and boats. Thanks.
