One of the great things about owning an NSX is that a cottage industry of guys who fix or make improved versions of parts that frequently go wrong has developed. Some of these parts are no longer made, some are still available but are very expensive, and these guys are often making better versions that are quite a bit cheaper. My hope is that there will be more of this as time passes, since the car is now 10+ years out of production, and more parts will be discontinued. Also, the rise of 3-D printing may provide a way for replacement parts to be made. Lud recently posted a helpful thread listing NSX specialty mechanics around the country, and that got me thinking about this other aspect of ownership. So here,in no particular order,is the list of folks I know of from my journeys through Prime and,in some cases,my own use:

BRIAN K-CCU Boards,Speaker Amps, EPS Boards, and Aspirator Fans.
http://nsxe-repair.com/
I think he is the king of this category, having done this for so many of our cars over time. When I was driving along one day and my fan would only blow on high,I knew right away I needed to send the board to Brian. My amps were done preemptively as part of a mechanical refresh last year. His prices are very reasonable and he offers fast turnaround.

HUGO (HUGABUGA)-Windows.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/148138-NSX-Window-KITS?p=1424244#post1424244
Hugo is a mechanical engineer who didn't like how the windows worked when he got his NSX, and made a kit to improve them.It is reasonably priced and offers substantial improvement. He lives in Europe, but has twice come to the US for NSXPO and installed the kits himself all over the country, including on my car.You can,of course, get the kit and install it yourself when he's not here.

D1 GUY (MATT)-Rebuilds EPS Racks.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/155401-Power-Steering-Rack-Rebuild-Part-2-of-3 662-416-0900
This a fantastic service because I believe that new racks are unavailable,or that if they can be found after much searching they will likely cost over $7000. I have not had to have this done, but everyone who has has been very pleased.
UPDATE ON D1 GUY-This is his recent official Prime Vendor introduction post-
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...1991-1996-amp-1997-2005?p=1892100#post1892100

ANGUS (WIL)-High Flow Cats.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showth...s+hi+flow+cats
These are very high quality, and replaced my failing oem ones at a fraction of the cost of oem ones. They also give you a nice extra roar on acceleration, and some more horsepower because of the lower restriction on exhaust flow. He also makes exhausts,RTP's,test pipes, turbo kits and sub enclosures, and installs Hugo window kits. Wil owns an NSX and is also a mechanic who works on them frequently. He knows a lot about the NSX.

PRIDE EXHAUST (MARK)-High Flow Cats.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...sonated-Test-Pipes-High-Flow-Cats-amp-CEL-Fix
I have not used his products, but have seen him mentioned on here frequently. He also makes exhausts,RTP's, and test pipes.

BEN (DAISY AUTO)-Negative Battery Cables.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...egative-battery-cable?highlight=battery+cable
Ben is one of the finest NSX mechanics around, and noticed lots of cars, like mine, coming in with crappy cable connections, loose and needing shims,so as his thread says,he built a better one.

A.S MOTORSPORT-Many Parts Including Throttle Cables.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/179605-Throttle-cable-reproductions-1990-1993
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...ebsite-A-S-Motorsport-Rare-JDM-Parts-amp-More
I have not used them, but have them in mind as a resource.I would be especially grateful if my car had a throttle cable because I believe they are discontinued.

CARBON6 COMPOSITES- Alcantara, Textreme Carbon Fiber and Composite Parts.
http://carbon6composites.com/
I just learned about this one, so added them. Jeff@Carbon6 is a Prime vendor and fellow NSX owner, and says their goal is to make "highly engineered limited production pieces." They also have a full machine shop. I have not used them, but have their replacement ball joints, which look really nice, on my radar screen.

POLE2FLAG RACING-Light Bumper Beams, Anti-Roll Bars, Abs Delete, Brake Lines, Console-
http://www.pole2flagracing.com/nsx-am-parts.html
They mention an extensive racing background, and focus on NSX parts for street and track.

SCIENCE OF SPEED-Many Parts and Upgrades.
https://www.scienceofspeed.com/
They have a whole host of improved parts, too many to mention. I have their LMA kit, ABS upgrade, and hatch struts (one of which failed completely recently well out of warranty, and which they replaced anyway, which i appreciated.)

These are the ones I know about or have dealt with myself.I'm sure there are some I have missed,so please feel free to chime in.

Thanks to all these folks for providing a helpful service at a reasonable price, and helping keep these 10+ to 25+ year old cars on the road and running well.

I like the idea.
I have an AP-X echaust on my car and will was a great help when I had questions during install and whenever I called about other products/ projects.
Also having met Hugo during this years window tour and seeing him work, I was simply amazed that he was able to take apart the window regulator and improve on its design, I'm sure all of us already know but its pure genius.
Marks @ Pride's customer service is some of the best I have seen.
And lets not forget Lud. NSX Prime is the best website I have ever been part of. I spend way too much time on here.

Driving ambition. Can't say enough good things about the services from Shad. A ctsc must have contact list.

Leaders of our hobby, all. Without them (and the Internet) keeping an NSX on the road or improving it would be much more difficult and expensive.

I have a BrianK CCU and Hugabuga window kit in my NSX, and soon my vtec rockers will be dampened with SOS lost motion assemblies.

Shawn has the lowest prices on used parts if he has them in stock than anyone, his hobby helps others in need because its just a hobby
and his full repaints and rebuild are normally 9K cheaper than any other rebuilder

and he like using LOL in 90% of his posts

Bump to add a new vendor, and to see if anyone else has any suggestions for someone to add.

I'd like to submit a suggestion for this thread. Eric at Bumperplugs is the very best at what he does. He has hundreds -- likely thousands -- of fanatical Porsche owners as fans and repeat customers. Considering NSX owners are an equally obsessive bunch, I am assuming the recommendation of a new top-quality vendor would be welcomed here.

Bumperplugs takes OEM parts and paints them in pretty much any color, through an intricate nineteen step process. He is currently helping me to paint the center console and AC vent bezel of my '98 NSX. Until now, he has worked nearly exclusively on Porsches. After this, I'm sure he would be open to helping other NSX owners as well. He is going to save the formulation from my restoration. Going with piano black (or any color you have a OEM paint code for) is very easy to do, too.

Anyway, just to be clear, I have no affiliation with Eric or his company. I'm just a grateful customer, and excited new NSX owner. Thought I'd share. Thanks. ;-)

Shawn, you can rebuild and weld aluminum body right?

Bump to add a new vendor, and to see if anyone else has any suggestions for someone to add.

A HUGE thanks should go out to larryb {Larry Bastanza}. His free advice through PM's and on the forum has been priceless for me throughout the years.

Clearly, we all benefit from both people like Larry B who contribute with their expertise and assistance... and from the various entrepreneurs who bring us enhancements and even 'reproductions' of parts no longer available. I was surprised at how many in the list I've benefited from and here are a couple more: NSX-SA in Australia who makes the steering knock bushing thing; TitaniumDave who makes various suspension-related parts; Strutwise (Canada) who recharges the window/trunk struts; Leatherseats.com who make good quality replacement seats; warrenw for figuring out how to rebuild the ABS system; and the folks who have taken a stab over the years at various cup-holder designs. We should also acknowledge the pioneering efforts on major projects such as the iLift product as well as the many engine performance innovations brought to us by (in no particular order) by Angus (APX), Cody (LoveFab), Chris (SOS), Shad (Driving Ambition), and Brian (Source 1) just to mention the North American ones. This is an amazing list considering the small number of NSXs still left on the road.

An update, since I don't seem to be able to edit my original post. I had my EPS rack rebuilt by D1 guy since starting this thread, and it is much tighter and more precise now. Matt said the bushings were broken down and the commutator had begun to rust, and that there was lots of debris. He also discovered something (spiral shaft?) bent in there, the car has never been in any kind of wreck so we thought it might have always been that way. He said it was minor enough that it would probably not be real noticeable. The good news was that he was able to replace it with a part from some extra racks that they had smartly accumulated, a new one presumably being NLA.

Like the thread title says, let's be grateful for folks like this.

What a great thread. I have used Mark @ Pride for his and Seibon product, I've also used A.S. Motorsport and had parts shipped to Canada from NL due to savings. Ben @ Daisy Auto was kind enough to call me in Canada to diagnose and repair an issue I have been having with the NSX.

On my radar is Brian K's CCU repair as I have been running without one for sometime, and Hugo's window repair.

All great services offered from great people.

Jeremy (NSX1145) at SCW Performance makes many great parts for the NSX! I have his cooling plate, hood hinges, throttle body cover and coolant tank. He also offers reasonably priced service - he replaced clutches in both my NSX and Prelude. Props to Jeremy

Stuntman and Coz have been more than helpful with suspension recommendations, suspension settings, and tire selections. BIG thanks.

Here is another helpful one that I have become aware of-

JAY BOZEMAN (SYNDICATE)-Budget ABS Upgrade.
Jay is an electrical engineer and longtime NSX owner who does a lot of mechanical and electrical work on NSXs. He has come up with a much cheaper alternative for those who want to upgrade their old ABS systems, using the pump from a Honda S2000 and two harnesses that he designed.

Here is his thread on it-

http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/<wbr>showthread.php/194252-Budget-<wbr>02-ABS-conversion

The intention is to make the upgrade as close to the OEM Acura one in the newer NSXs as possible for significantly less money. The kit is currently for cars with non-OEM ECU'S, but he is working on compatibility with OEM ones.
If you want to get in touch with Jay, you can send him a PM on Prime or find some contact information in his signature.

cleardot.gif

I've had the pleasure of driving to Jay's house and chatting with him. I'm parting out the ABS parts and once Jay has time, I'm having him do the conversion. He drove me around on his supercharged NSX (he did the install himself) and that was a thrill. I highly recommend Jay.

I see that NSX expert Kaz, in his analysis of Jay's ABS conversion, said:

" it sounds like this ... conversion is far better than the sick classic ABS especially if you keep triggering the ABS/ALB warning light or had to disable the ABS because of it."
