Feff - I am here at Road America now. I had no idea our group was getting together for something like this. I would love to join. I will contact you to get on the reserve list. Thanks.

Feff - Does one need to have a 5 point racing harness or other equipment to go on the track? I am happy buying a helmet.

The decision on safety equipment is yours but as a min you have to have a 3pt seat belt (OEM), 2010 SA Rated helmet, and long sleeve shirt & long pants if you are in a hard roof vehicle. It gets a little more involved if you are tracking a convertible.

You are also required to have your vehicle pass a tech inspection, you can find the form here:

This will give you an idea of the minimum things needed to prepare your car for track use. I use the word minimum because depending on skill level you will want to do more to the prep the car as you become a faster driver. Keep in mind that Road America is a very fast track and your car even in stock form will see speeds in the 120-140 mph range depending on how hard you decide to run. Plan accordingly.

Mark puts on one of the best run, well organized, and safest events I have seen. He takes great pride in making his events affordable, with the most time on track, and as safe as possible. Should you decide to run with MVP (I highly recommend it), you need to only know one thing before you attend his events. Study this, commit it to memory, practice saying it before you arrive, but "IT IS NOT A RACE."
