NSX Type-S seats - Recaro PolePostion ABE - A.S. Motorsport

Hello Everyone,

As quite a few of you know we offer, NSX Type-S styled seats custom made by Recaro for us.
This is a Recaro Pole Position ABE with your choices of shell material (carbon or fiberglass) custom made to match your NSX just as in the NSX Type-S.

Process takes about 6-10 weeks and is done by hand in the Recaro Factory in Germany, so this isn't a knock-off, replica product,
Made by the same people that made the Type-S seat for Honda, customized to your wishes.

Important to note, these aren't some replica or knock-off, genuine Recaro seats made in Germany custom upholstered to your wishes by Recaro.
Now, for those looking for NSX-R 2002-2005 Red seats, please check out our group buy for those.

Options:
These seats are made to order so the term option is very broad we can go quite far in customization of fabrics, etc.
Fabric/Leather, stitching, cushions all can be customized.

Factory carbon fiber shell is an additional €1075 for each seat.

At additional cost we can also have our carbon specialist laminate the FRP seat shell in the correct Honda Kevlar.
This add's about a other 4 weeks, this is done to a OEM+ Level and comes with warranty on finish and workmanship.
Generally we do the lamination work on interiors for our Ferrari & Maserati customers, and with a finish level above that of OE carbon supplied by Ferrari/Maserati.

If for some reason you have a fabric,leather that you wish to be used we can often accommodate that.
We'll have to send the material to the factory.

Pricing:
Depends heavily on material and amount of customization.
€1000-1400 per seat is generally what a custom order seat costs.

Shipping:
Towards North America €395 via air freight
Europe varies per country, 50-100€
Norway for example is €200

Common combination:
"Black Type-S", black leather outer with ether embossed or stitched Recaro logo's and black suede cushions.
"Red Type-S", black leather with red suede cushions.
"NSX-R NA1", full red or black suede with small white stitched Recaro logo. (like on a 1992-1995 NSX Type-R)

Lead time:
Again varies according to the options, generally if the fabric's are readily available at Recaro 6-8 weeks.
If the fabric must be custom ordered our sourced that will add time for, sourcing and shipping the fabric.

Carbon shell's have a special lead time that varies according when a batch comes in.

Door cards:
We can order per meter extra fabric from Recaro with your seat so that you can upholster the door cushions in the seat cushion material.
That would complete the Type-S look.

Since I already have pole positions, I would like to purchase just the cushions/inserts in orange suede. Is this possible?

The custom upholstery department at Recaro only does new complete seats, but I might be able to have cushions made.
I know that black and red suede generally are easy to get a hold of, the Orange would be quite a bit more tricky as it's a very specific colour.

Are you able to get that very specific to OEM orange alcanatara from the Type S?

As for that OEM Type-S alcantara it's going to be difficult to get the exact match, would take some reverse sourcing at Alcantara and Japan.
Getting the correct hue of orange is very difficult in these types of material and orange and lime green would be the least common.

What would it cost me to get the black suede with lime green inserts, lettering and stitching?

For a pair black suede with lime green stitching, embroidered recaro logo, €2150.
As for the lime green cushions I need to check the surcharge as the material would have to be specially ordered.

Can these be done in all tan? I would like to keep the interior as close to OEM as possible.

OEM Matched:
Yes this is a possibility, yet since our cars are often 15-25 years old we'd need a sample to get a perfect match to your interior.
There will be some extra cost as we'd need to source a matching leather or leatherette to the sample and the suede/alcantara for a insert.

End result would be very factory looking.

As for a black/ebony leather interior we have that ready and for those wanting contrast red,blue,silver/gray, black sued cushions being easily available.

For those with Ivory interior,
We've received quite a few ivory inquiries.
Yes this is possible yet ivory being susceptible for color change match anything to it is inherently more challenging.

That is great news! Second question, I have never sat in these seats, I am 6'2 and about 245 are these compatible for a "larger" person and how comfortable are they for a daily driver. Thanks again.

Then the PolePosition ABE will be perfect for you as they're designed to accommodate the larger users.

Do these seats allow for a lower than stock seating position? What rails work best with these seats? Thanks

Correct these seats do allow for a much lower seating position, SOS rails and few other will work fine (all Recaro compatible rails)

A other nice example of a customized Recaro,
Customer wanted the NSX-R NA1 look with full black suede but with silver stitching to match to his NSX.

Could you please PM me the cost for a pair of "Black Type-S" seats?

I would also like enough extra suede material to update my side panels.

Depending on cost, I may also be interested in a Honda correct Kevlar laminate.

These work with the OEM seat belts as shown in the photos, correct?

FYI we can supply powered rails both OEM and aftermarket but these are designed for narrow Japanese spec Recaro/NSX-R seats.
We're working on a altered version for these European/American sized seats

My request is almost the same as MJK.
Black leather "Type-S" seats embossed Recaro logo's With Black suede cushions but Silver stitching.
enough extra suede for the side Panels and the price option for the Kevlar laminate.

Well ivory is very variable in how it looks in a NSX, Ivory cars are generally 22-26 years old at this point the leather will color ether trough use or due to environmental exposure.
For a direct leather match we'd compare swatches and samples and leather types.
