Daughter just can't wait to turn 16 to drive Dad's car!

BTW - Just picked up a 1998 Exhaust my car is a 1991 - anyone want to help me install this? I will gladly give you some CompactFlash or SmartMedia for your digital Camera for your labor. When it comes to working on cars I have no knowledge nor do I want to learn. Also do I need a adapter to do this? Comptech adapter?

No, the Comptech pipes are for going from a 98 - 91 exhaust. There were two styles made on the 97+ exhaust, one with pipes that you can remove to fit a 91, and one with fixed pipes, that would require welding to get off.

If you have the fixed pipes, you can weld them off and put your pipes from your 91 exhaust on, or use the 97+ straight pipes, altough your car would not be smog legal.

Heck ya...funny thing is you will do just about anything for your kids. My plan is to give my daughter my 97-T when she turns 16. That will be in three years or so. At about 18K miles now, I figure the car will have about 40K (still fresh) on it when she is able to drive. The kids already think the car belongs to her!

Hopefully you are going to give her a trip to a decent high performance driving school before giving her the NSX.
JMO but a mid-engined supercar is NOT the first car for anyone! Heck, my first mid-engine car had FAR less power than the NSX and I still got into trouble...

Me too! In college I had a 1976 Lancia Scorpion (Monte Carlo) with an Abarth modded engine. It was a blast to drive and made that awesome twin cam 16 valve racket behind my ears. It had a custom header and exhaust system and flames would shoot out between shifts!

What was everyone else's first mid engine car?

1974 Fiat (fix it again tony) X1/9. Bone stock except ANSA exhaust. Two friends had heavily modded ones - all of the Bayless and Italian goodies - one was an SCCA racecar the other was street.
What a blast that car was - brought a smile to my face each and every time that I drove it.

my first was an 84 fiero 4 banger. cheapest thrill ride available. i ended up putting a F-40 body kit on it. lots of welding and bondo. wasnt as easy as i thought. ended up spending close to $20k on a $900 car, and that was just the cosmetics.

Hey, I had one of them. Waited 10 weeks for it, had one of the first in my area. Girls used to ask if it was a Ferrari!
Went through 3 engines mostly because the dealer sucked but the car was ok for the money. Just when it was finally fixed properly and I'd put headers, Koni adjustables, and a few other things on it some clown in a VW Bus turned across me and totalled it - although sliding into that parked tow truck helped with the totalling part!

I agree.

Mid-engined supercar, yes, first car for anyone, well, if it were not for the fact that the NSX can be driven by just about anyone, I would agree. I sometimes describe the car as having manners like a Honda Accord (but alot more fun).

I am not suggesting someone drive a full-blown 66 Vett as their first car, but I do believe if driven modestly, the NSX can be driven by someone first learning to drive.

I may not have mentioned I will be in the car (at the same time) for the first 3 years.
