Short gears or NSX-R R&P? Or Both?

Some mighty fine driving there Will !

Here's my YouTube channel

Yeah I am stock power-ish I/H/E and a chipped ECU. I focused strictly on just suspension mods which is where the NSX shines.

Here's some vids. With the stock power the car does really really well around the SoCal tracks. Even has the NA record at some.

I am going play dummy and ask ...what does R&P stand for and what does it do?

OSG's final drive is 4.41 NOT 4.44 (which is an S2000 ratio).

Unless you're making HUGE torque, I'd go with the short gears no matter what you do with the final drive. Unless you do highway roll racing where the 'long' gears have a shorter spacing in 3-4-5th.

R&P stands for ring and pinion. You need that otherwise your NSX will feel like a toy car eg- won't move...

My reasoning to have shorties + NSX-R R&P was that, after all, the stock NA NSX power ain't too far from my old AP2 S2000 with some basic mods (Test Pipe, Spoon Exhaust, Puffo Intake).
The AP2 had a pretty "close" gearbox and I'd like to get the same feeling on the NSX.
I rarely pass the 150mph anyways.

Stupid assumption? Maybe.

I miss my S2000
