Has anyone here installed a NSX-R 4.23:1 final drive on a CTSC-equipped NSX?

If so, do you like it and did you find it a worthwhile modificaton?

What are the things to look out for when installed this on a 6-speed '98 NSX?

Hi Maarten

From the perspective of an CTSC 5-speed with short gears and 4.23 I would NOT open the gearbox only for the 4.23. With your 3.2 and 6 speed you have (had) more flexibility right from the start. On a slow 91 NSX (yes, yes, yes, no tomatoes please :) but I was a passanger in a new slightly tuned Civic Type R yesterday which drives circles around a NSX Gen 1, acceleration is on par with a CTSC NSX, WHAT a car!), short gears are a must IMHO, even with CTSC as the supercharger likes revs too. If you really have a broken gearbox and HAVE TO open it up things look different. But I wouldn't touch the system or spend $$$$ if it's not broken and for a benefit so small. I'm not saying it's a waste of money but parts and labor add up to 3k at least, money to be spent on sth else or even safed (for an tuned FK2 :)).

Best regards.
