    Unhappy NSX Racing

Are there any NSX's that are participating in american televised races? Any high profile race NSX's? like Realtime? I seem to see plenty of Porsche\bmw\audi\corvette\etc. cars racing in the limelite, where are the NSX's?

DAL Motorsports, Benoit Theetge, the European race team that recently competed in the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring. And I think there's another guy that will be competing in the Speed WC GT series soon.

I saw speedtv's coverage of the 24 hours and they showed a red NSX at the start for one second and that was it for the entire hour, not even seen being passed on the course.

Realtime has retired the NSX. Again. :-) Talking with a member of their crew today at a Panoz event, I think that this time the deal with Nissan makes this a permanent thing.

Theetge Motorsports had their car up for sale and has yet to enter a race this season. Benoit tells us he may enter races later in the year, but there are some issues that have kept him out of the running so far this season.

We are just about done with the build out of a car for the Grand Am Cup series, and plan on entering the last two races of this season, followed by a full season in 2004 in the premier class of the Cup series (Grand Sport).

So, in short... no. Right NOW, there are no NSXs racing, but there will be again shortly. :-)

what you guys are doing has been a Walter Mittie dream for me.I'm psyched that you are doing it right and on a tight bugget! You have some very talented drivers as well.I remember very well my first laps at msr in Vaugn's car.He was going fast but also ballencing the car on what was a very slick track.I went out in my car and slid off track on the first turn!lol,I figured out then how good Vaugn is.

Not soon enough for us… RacerXtreme has taken over the former RTR Acura NSX in the Speed World Challenge series; it will debut in October at the Road Atlanta event, then to Puerto Rico.

These pictures are from a press release at Road Atlanta.

I saw Rob's car at Road Atlanta. Very nice attention to detail. It was not finished yet, but looked really nice... Can't wait until October at the Petite LeMans weekend!

Is that actually the same car that RTR used? If so, what happened to the single-nut racing-style hubs? The picture shows standard 5-lug wheels.

Rob said it wasn't the RTR NSX but that it had a lot of RTR parts on it (you could still make out where the "RealTime" had been on the wing). He pointed out that the car wasn't finished and was to indeed get the single-nut hubs soon. As such, those wheels would be for sale also...

    Mike,
That is not the same car; it’s actually an improved version with most of the parts from the old car. The old car had an inferior cage structure that allowed too much flex.

I didn’t get the center lock system from RTR until the weekend I saw them at Atlanta. Unfortunately BBS had to see the car without their Magnesium rims.

If your interested in the old rims they are on E-bay as we speak.
