2017 Auction Season approaching - JH4NA21673T000001 on block 1-14-17

It's December and all of the 2017 collector car auctions are just around the corner.

In examining the January, 2017, Mecum Collector Car Auction, Kissimmee, FL, lots I noted this red/onyx beauty JH4NA21673T000001 slated for Saturday, January 14th, 2017. Lot # S254.

Some of you NSX Primates likely recognize this NSX as previously being owned by red-nsx (TX) and oldnews (TN).

Synopsis:

1) Was evidently shipped when new to Kentwood, MI (suburb of Grand Rapids).
2) Purchased in 2010 by Prime member red-nsx (Colin), Corpus Christi, TX, with very low mileage.
3) red-nsx listed it for sale here on Prime 2-25-14 at 5,718 miles for $65 K firm (he loved his 2002 Imola NSX more :biggrin
4) Sold to Prime member oldnews in TN.
5) For sale on FerrariChat 10-6-2016 at 8,500 miles. Repped by S Sackey for TN owner (oldnews?). No price listed.
6) FChat listing "closed" 10-27-2016 with NSX noted sold.
7) NSX now entered for auction Mecum Kissimmee lot # S254 to be auctioned Saturday, Jan. 14th, 2017, listed as mileage 8,500 and expected to fetch $110K to $130K.

Sold to a flipper now hoping to cash it in at auction?

I represented the car for Eric in Tennessee, he wanted to sell relatively quickly so we went to LBI Limited (well-known Philadelphia classic car dealer). They are the current owners taking it to Mecum. They also have chassis number JH4NA21644S000030 currently for sale on eBay with even lower miles.

Adolfo, co-founder at LBI, is a true Japanese car gearhead. I would hesitate to term them "flippers"!

I expect a few high quality examples to move around a bit at auctions - that seems to be common for cars on the up and rising.

Man, I guess I should have held onto this one a few years longer. Sold in Feb 2014 and now look at it. WOW

Kissimee is a tough crowd for the NSX - I have been there the past few years and classic american cars are where its at. I doubt this car will sell there unless a buyer is specifically at the auction for that car.

Correction - two* buyers.

Update 1-12-17

Bumpage as this is drawing closer and an NSX is running tomorrow (Friday the 13th!). Two more NSX's are to be offered.

First - this will be on NBCSN - broadcast times are Thursday (today) 130-630p (live); Friday 13th 2-6p (live); Friday 13th 830p-3a (delayed); Sat. 14th 830p-3a (delayed); Monday 16th 4-6p (delayed); Tuesday 17th 5-7p (re-air). All times are EST.

Three NSX's scheduled:

Lot F20.1 a 1991 NSX (no other details) running Friday 13th.

Lot S254 the sweet red 2005 with low low miles running Sat. 14th.

Lot U109 a red 1991 running Sunday 15th.

According to the Mecum site, today's was a 91 black/black automatic with 56,000 miles and went for 40k.

Serious money for an early automatic.

I see VIN 000001 is now sold at Mecum and for more than I expected as these auctions tend to focus on the muscle car crowd.

I was particularly interested in this one as my '03 NSX has the same 001 VIN!... well not exactly. Mine is 800001 - a Canadian market unit.

I was just looking at some of the other results from the same auction today... An '04 Ferrari 360 went for $60K! Laughing at the description for the Ferrari: replaced this, upgraded that... The owner of that car probably spent as much as the NSX is worth over the last 13 years just keeping it "up to date" with servicing. God I love Acura's supercar.

Not too sure but I'd say without. That was the posted selling price on the auction site.

It did not sell at $27K, nor was it a Bid Goes On car...

$110K? wow, oh boy the poor guy that sold it for $65,000 firm......

I saw that today. Man what a nice example of a car. I have seen many great example cars in all brands at Marshall Goldman's eBay listings. They had a 2010 gtr with 10k miles for 55k about 5 months ago.

I like that its #001 off the lot for 2003!
