Hello all,

I was thinking about how we now know that the J series motors will mate with our transmissions bolt for bolt. As parts become scarce for our cars, I am always looking for ways to save money and get similar parts from other vehicles like the S2000 ABS conversion I did. If the NSX transmissions bolt up to the J series motors, shouldn't the TL type S 6 speed bolt up to the NSX motor? I don't know much about transmissions, but couldn't you take an Acura TL Type S 6speed tranny and change out the gears with the shorter NSX R gears? Couldn't you also swap out the differential and effectively have a coveted 02+ transmission for half the price? Let me know what you think. Is this crazy talk or a possible option worth investigation?

Thanks,
Jay

I have also been pondering this idea.
Just havent researched if there is short gears for the tl/cl-s gear boxes.
According to j-swap thread. The shifter cables are on the oposite side of the j than they are on the c.
