Style NSX nose

It's been a few weeks since I got the car back from the shop with the new front end. Some of you know that back in December I hit a deer and chose this opportunity to update/modify the car's looks. I liked the pics I'd seen of Trond's NOrwegian NSX so I decided to contact him to get the name of the maker.

The piece is made by Style Auto in Germany. I contacted Michael Neumann to get the part and have it shipped to SF. That part was easy.

I was emailed a little while ago by an NSXer who got the part from Style and was very unhappy with the way it was shipped (in a makeshift taped up cardboard box) and how it was delivered (broken). Mine was also delivered in a homemade box, but it came to me fully intact so I kept it, even though it was very rough, and brought it to my shop.

Here is the text of an email I sent to the other NSXer:
I did not have an easy time with this nose. I hope I didn't mislead anybody into thinking that it was a great piece of work. I love the style but hated the fit and finish. Mine did not, however, come damaged. Was it insured for shipping? Maybe the air carrier could be held liable for the damage? My lip also came with no brackets or instructions. It needed massive prep, trimming and shaping to get it to properly fit. 17 hours of work!!! The final product is still not a great fitting part, but the overall look is good, and I'll be satisfied with it until I hit my next deer...

As far as how to make it fit: I'm certain that the upper edge of the part must be trimmed to fit the upper bumper cover. You will have to manufacture a lip to wrap the trailing edge on each side of the Style nose. You will probably be very unhappy with the fit of the tow hook cover, I was, and you may want to manufacture another one. When mounting the part to the car I found the Passenger side bottom flared out too far and had to be pushed in and held in place with a bracket. I'll try to get some pics of it and send them to you. I am extremely unhappy with the fit of the two center posts as they mate (or rather don't mate) to the upper bumper cover. My shop came up with a shitty answer to the fit, and I'll have to make a better go of it.

BE CAREFUL painting the part: My shop worked many hours to prep and sand the nose to prepare it for paint and then the paint blistered when they baked it! The tech said that he could smell the resins coming out of the fiberglass. They think that the part was not fully cured. Perhaps you could either cure the part more (?) or not bake it after painting.

Thank you very much for posting this thread. I was planning on getting the same front end. I ran over a raccoon over the weekend and damaged the lower part of the bumper.

It would be great if some vendor could make a Style-similar bumber in plastic (wingwest material)... SoS? Dali?

I would buy it for sure! I wanted the Style too to match my WW sideskirt... but the fiberglass and the poor customer service I got when I phoned them did put me off... so I bought the WW front.

Gheba, I actually got great service from Michael, but the part itself was a disappointment. I agree with you about the material type. The design is good, the execution is not.

Thanks for the pictures and imput on the new valance. I admit to using you as a test to see if the quality was what I was hoping for, or as I feared it could be. Sure looks good, but I shall wait for something of higher quality thanks to your information.
