Hey everybody,

So I'll be visiting the bay at the end of the month where I keep my NSX garaged and I'm thinking while I'm home I can do the Pacific Coast Highway drive down the coast to visit family in San Diego and maybe some old friends in LA.

Anyone do this one before? Any recommendations or pitfalls to avoid? I.E. are there notorious speed trap areas?...Long stretches where you can't get gas? Anything like that?

Can't wait to get back in the saddle!

I did the drive 25+ years ago. It took a whole day to get from Monterrey to San Luis Obispo; speed is not part of the equation. The drive is best done at a leisurely pace, stopping often to enjoy the views of the Pacific, and the road itself.
As Ryu mentioned, a large section is not drivable due to the land slide.

Exactly what RYU said. A big portion off big sur is closed off due to land slides. You will have to take a long detour.

All in all, it should be worth it.

If you are down to meet up in LA, hit me up! would love to see your car and swap China stories.
