    Question "exempt from odometer reporting"

A Carfax report for a certain 1991 NSX includes

    Date: 05/14/2002
    Information Source:
    Florida
    Motor Vehicle Dept.
    Delray Beach, FL
    Title #0063321567

    General Comments:
    Title issued
    Exempt from odometer reporting

Is that a red flag? Under what circumstances does a state (in this case, Florida) exempt cars from mileage reporting?

I checked mine and when i purchased my car then got the title. It says exempt under mileage. Is it because high mileage or year.

I think it's by year. My Diablo replica (1987 Fiero) and my 1988 Fiero have titles from California and Texas respectively. The Texas title has exempt, and the California title just lists the last time the mileage was checked, which was 1994. Maybe after 10 years it's not a requirement anymore.

FLA has rules on the years...

I believe after 10 years it becomes exempt.
