Blower motor on works on HIGH...I have read the other threads please help

Looked through the other threads and the TSB.

Do I need to replace the blower and the power transistor? So have done just the transistor and some work, while some have done it a few times....some have replaced the control units.

    Please help.

My symptoms are simple. blows cold, but only on high.

Can this transistor be repaired or is my only choice a new one for $175 from Neillo Acura?

If the blower cased it to blow, will this just happen again down the road?

    thanks

    Lightbulb Blower only high

I had the same on my 1991, only the service bulletin fix of blower and resistor didn't repair it! Had to replace the control unit with a used one, then all was fine! I think there is some info on repairing the control unit in this website. The test is to replace the current resistor with a known good one, and if there's no change, you likely need the control unit. It's not that hard to replace the control unit yourself.A little bit like replacing the radio. Good luck!!

Do the cap fix it will most likely fix your problem, it did on mine and my was doing exactly the same as yours, fan on high only.

by the way for those who follow the TSB and find the transitor unit does need to be replaced, that is repairable as well. it turns out that cadillac or honda copied the design from eachother or someone else as the transistor used in both of the fan control modules are the same. It can be replaced the hardest part is getting to it. The part mounts in the airbox for cooling and then once you get it out you need to remove the epoxy coating that holds all the parts together. This took me longer than the rest of the project combined.

    best of luck
