    Question Southwest Region web site

How come the web site shows an ad for Time Warner Telecom? Did it have actual NSX related content at one time? It seems like other regions are a lot more active.

I don't know why the website shows an ad.

However, I would not describe the Southwest Region as inactive. There are two autocrosses a year in the Ventura County CA area, and a huge December holiday party in Southern California.

As for Phoenix-area activities, all it takes to hold a club event is someone willing to make the arrangements. Contact Mark Basch and Chris Willson; they might be interested in working with you on something in your area. If it's an NSX Club activity (rather than an NSXprime get-together), all the club members in the area can be notified, and you might get a good turnout. There are currently 25 club members in Arizona (20 in/near Phoenix, 5 in/near Tucson).

Does the club help in any way with the regional activities, other than notify the members? Maybe we'll just crash the California group's parties.

A monthly/quarterly dinner might be nice, to start with. I hear they used to have these back when...

    We need a Webmaster!

The main problem with the Southwest region website is we need a webmaster to set it up and maintain it.

I don't have the knowlege or time to do it.

As for NSXCA events in your area, if someone were to arrange an event and you need some money to get it off the ground just let me know and we can talk about the cost and if the regional funds can support it I will let Ken Sax (the Club Treasurer) send you a check. The Southwest region just bought an Autocross timing system and is buying traffic cones to set up autocross courses. We plan to even offer to come to Phoenix and help you all have an Autocross

All you would need to do is get a parking lot big enough to set up a safe track!

Your options are pretty wide open

    Let me know

Well geez, if no one wants to volunteer then I'll take a crack. I mean, anything's gotta be better than a blank page right? I just know basic HTML and I ain't no photoshop guru, but I can throw something simple together.

Hell yeah, why should someone else have all the fun with my membership dues? C'mon fellow AZ members, let's set something up!

Thumbs up Go for it Yvonne!

    Yvonne:

If you are willing to put a site together, GO FOR IT!!

I just spoke to some of the other NSXCA board members, and they informed me that the NSXCA can infact host the web page so we don't need to use a nother ISP. To get the information on how to set that up, contact either Eric Robbins or Tom Kohrs and they should be able to help. Eric is the webmaster for the main NSXCA site but is pretty busy right now. So if you dont get a response from him try Tom.

If you are willing to take this on I can send an e-mail out to the region and ask for sugestions for content and data and images etc.

    Just let me know.

    BTW Thanks!

After speaking with scNSXgirl, it's my understanding that she is waiting for the username and password to access the web space in order to upload files. Having created some personal websites myself, I know what a pain it is to try to do everything through email. It's just not feasible if you're planning to include a lot of graphics and perform frequent updates. I'm not sure what the concern is with giving her direct access, it's not like Yvonne can't be trusted (after all, she did work on the latest NSX Driver magazine!).

If I misunderstand the issue, please correct me. I know we're all busy, but the Southwest region deserves something IMO. Heck, if someone will grant me access I will build a simple site myself.

Please, can we move this forward? Ken, Steve, anybody?

    Thank you.

Question Need a bit more information

    scNSXGIRL:
Who are you waiting for a password from?

This is the first I have heard that someone / anyone was waiting for information to get this going.

If I can get the name of the person you are trying to get the information from I will do what I can to help you get it.

    Thanks
