    Mike5261, I salute you.

Edit: I guess I should mention, just for the record, my '91 now has 44,250 miles on it.

If you can, I would love to see a picture of the odometer reading that high. Could you possibly post one? Thanks!

I have a 91 with 114,000 miles and the same number of paint chips from the track!

She can still get out of the way of the new vettes when they come charging past.

I wish there was a newer girl I could replace her with that would keep up with the pack-but I still like her curves.

I've had my 93 for a little over a year now. She had about 70,000 miles on her when I bought her and she is now flirting with 120,000 miles. I'm happy to say that there have been absolutely no issues at all with the car. (Knock on wood!)

Normal maintenance has always been performed on time except of course for more frequent oil and filter changes changes. (Every 3000 miles)

She is my daily driver amd my mobile office. The car is like a damn drug. If I don't drive her every day I think I get withdrawal symptoms.

When I had my first NSX in 1993 and lived in New York City I drove it year round. You don't see many of them to begin with especially in the middle of winter with ski racks on the roof.

I've never owned, nor for that matter seen a car that has build quality even close to the NSX. I have a 1993 and the paint still looks great, the interior is in excellent shape. The leather on the seats has no cracks and the plastic surfaces have not dulled. The car is driven every day and maintained properly. The only thing that doesn't work is the trip odometer. I'd love to find a replacement but they don't sell without the entire instrument cluster board.

Probably buried in a box somewhere. Digital cameras were just a wet dream in 1993.

for the record i have been for a ride in mikes car at nsxpo last year. I had no idea how many miles it had at the time and when i asked him this routine question i expected him to say something like 60K miles. At the time i think he had 230K + miles and you would never know it except for looking at the odometer.

    AMAZING!

Mike is a busy guy and he probably does not have time to monitor these posts very often. I hope that he will not mind if I post the pic of his odometer reading for him. I am sure that there are more miles now than when this pic was sent to me.

I talked with Mike a while ago and he sent me some pics and info about his car. The miles are probably the highest that I have heard of for any NSX. The "Rest of the Story" about his car is also great! But it is his story and I would not want to infringe on his privacy so I leave it up to him to disclose if he chooses to do so.

These high miles show that the NSX can be a reliable daily driver and a car to be kept for years and years of BIG SMILES!Teethy

WOW!! Thank you so much!! That is my new inspiration. I hope that Mike can find the time to share the 'rest of story' about his car, as I would love to hear it.

Re: time for a high mileage update

Here is my story: I haved worked at an Acura Dealer for last 16 years my nsx is the first one we sold in 91 the guy that bought the car is a doctor , he serviced the car religously at our store, and the reason he drove so many miles is the fact that he had two practices about 75 miles apart so he was in for service frequently, and for the most part he came to me for service. so last July he came in for his last service, jokingly I told him that he needed to dump the car and I would give him $2500 cash right now, we laughed about it and he was on his way, at this time he had about 335,000 miles and the car was hurting almost every seal was leaking from the engine, the oil was leaking so bad that you couldnot drive more than 3-4 miles without a trail of blue smoke from the back of the car, the abs light was on the clutch was toast, a/c compressor siezed, antenna stuck up driver window would barely close, the paint on the roof faded out, front bumper was 1/4 of inch lower because he rear ended someone the left rear wheel was different than the other three because he had a flat tire and drove the car in on the bare wheel which was ground down to the size of a 12 inch wheel, when the tire came apart tore the left rear 1/4 panel and the left side of the car 2 inch wide scratch down the side of the car. That is the majority of the problems with the car. he decided at about 285,000 miles that he was going to do the least amount of repairs possible and drive the car till it stopped. I guess things change because about 2 weeks after his july visit his car was towed in with a dead battery and blown main fuse, he had sold his practices and house and was moving to another state when the shipper came to pick up his cars the nsx was dead and the guy jumped the car backwards and blew the fuse, so he leaves the car behind. The doctor now needs to get rid of the car quickly as he doesnot have time to arrange another shipper. So he asked me if I was Still interested in his car, I explained to him that I really couldnot afford it as I have 3 kids 1 in college and 2 soon to follow but I was curious so I asked him what he wanted for it and he said make an offer, I did and he accepted and here we are now the car is about 90% back together and i drive it everyday my current odometer is 340425 miles. That's my story

Thanks for sharing your story with everyone Mike.

I know that I enjoyed hearing it when you told me and I am sure that everyone here is just as amazed as I was when you told it to me. It really is a testament to the quality of the NSX and to what the definition of "Daily Driver" really means.

BTW- I should have my CTSC installed sometime in the next month or so. I would like to meet up with you sometime in March and take a weekend drive. That is as long as you don't mind a few more miles on your car!LOL
